  On the NewsHour with Jim Lehrer tonight, there was a long part about the Catholic Church and the cases of abuse by priests...
  Everything that was said would fit the Watch Tower pedophilia and molestation cases as well.
  Of course they must prepare their followers for the Dateline show...
  The "householders" who watch that program may not be so friendly anymore...

  in regard to my quote from matthew 11:2024 about those in capernaum being more wicked than those in sodom, and also the fact that they had seen some of the most powerful works and miracles of jesus.

  Reading YK's posts is like reading "explications" of fairy tales....
  Doesn't matter what explanations and interpretations you come up with, it's just an exercise with words and ideas and opinions, because what it is based on is all a tale anyway, a legend...
  Even if the Bible is the word of God and some deeper meaning is hidden in there.... I just find it is presumptuous to declare that you are the only one understanding the meaning of the Bible texts !

  Kissing....Lips or Cheeks?

  at my dad's funeral i realized something...all the jw relatives on my mother's side of the family "lip" kiss.

  this means that when you are greeting that person, male or female, young or old, you grasp them, pull them forward, hug and kiss...on the lips!!!

  Even in France, where you do kiss acquaintances when you meet them, it's on the cheeks, not the lips, unless a woman kisses a man, a girl a boy, and they're a little more close....
  I would not like being kissed on the lips by some uncles of mine, burk ! I did kiss my son on the lips when he was younger, do it still from time to time, but just a peck !

  just an observation....

  i'm probably gonna get creamed for this but i've made an observation and i need to know if i'm the only who feels this way...anywho...here goes.. ever since i left the "borg" a couple years ago i've been trying to find a home.

  i thought i would find it in a group that did not agree with their teaching.

  (i.e., apostates or chat rooms where free discussion is promoted) as time goes on, i realize i may be mistaken.

  My unintended absence

  as those who care to notice have indeed already noted, i've not been posting as of late.

  between work and family i'm pretty full up right now.

  i just returned from a one week conference on suicide intervention (lets not put this learning to the test, ok) and while remaining in the same building and organization, i'm now changing jobs.. i'll pop in from time to time and begin posting my witty (yeah, right) retorts soon enough.
