Considering that the JWs preach door to door with success primarily in already Christian lands, the 'good news' is really just a rehash of what most Christians already believe.

It is very difficult to convert people raised in a non-Christian culture.

The church was so good at this over the centuries because the conversions were forced under pain of torture and/or death.

JWs have to the Catholic Church especially for paving the way for them. Without Catholics, to whom would they preach?

Muslims?

Looking back at my post, I can see you might have seen my words as hostile. Well, perhaps I intended to blow a little smoke up your a$$. At least you got a good LOL out of it.

But I wanted you to take my ideas seriously there; you should look into the OT origins of Satan. It's really quite revealing when you read the bible and try to keep things in context.

I made a similar comment to VioletAnai, but read the first chapter of Job especially, and Jude verses 8-13 (or 14...can't remember). Or just check out my post on Violet's essay thread.

hi everyone.. as i think about all the conversations and laughs i've had here over the last six months, it makes me smile.

there are some very genuine, loving people here and i wish you all a wonderful future no matter what you choose to do.. although i have had some terrible experiences with the witnesses, i can't ignore what i feel.

i love jehovah and if i have to associate with the wtbts so be it!

But then I analyze it...Jah wouldn't want his sovereignty questioned again so he is making sure we never forget what it was like NOT to be under his rule. Remember we have never experienced what it is like to live in a world that Jah governs. The only ones who did experience it were Adam and Eve - they being perfect and couldn't even appreciate or respect his authority.

Do you see the holes in the above logic? There are more than I could mention here. Please give it an honest look.

This here is a real paradox and no amount of rationalizing or justifying can get around it (of course not, because you only come back to where you started):

"we never forget what it was like NOT to be under his rule."

We can't have it both ways. Is Satan ruling, or is Jehovah ruling? Isn't the 'vindication of Jehovah's name' supposed to be the time when He comes and shows that He was really the one in control the whole time????

And if Satan is ruling the world, why are a precious few then allowed to 'be ruled by Jehovah' right now? Is it just a distorted fantasy of the WT leaders that Satan controls all of the world but Jehovah leads them?

Give some thought to this. What if Satan is just a scapegoat?

Have you ever wondered why he appears in only the first chapter of Job (and only one other place in the OT)?

Why is he then so prevalent in the NT? Is it because he didn't exist in the belief system until much later?

Finally, read Jude verses 8-13. Then research the explanation for this 'dispute'. Is it supported by any other scriptures?

Keep trying to blow smoke up people's bungholes, but Satan has nothing to do with instability, just as God has nothing to do with stability.

Read your bible. Satan didn't appear on the scence until very late, because the early believers didn't have a concept of Satan.

He is a scapegoat that doesn't exist.

You prove nothing by saying the world is unstable. The universe is unstable. It always has and always will be.

Amazing Survived Major Heart Attack

i just spoke on the phone to amazing (jim whitney) who is in intensive care in a chicago hospital.

on monday he had a major heart attack, had a stint put in an artery to unblock things and may have bypass surgery.

he's comfortable enough right now, but of course will have to make some big lifestyle changes.
