okay, first off, let me get this straight...you guys are all witnesses, some all active, some do things all the way right, some don't do things all the way right?
some are by the book but not preachy, and some are witnesses that are rogue and do things their own way?
i just want to know before i post any doubts or concerns or anything because even though i know we're supposed to stay away from places like this on the internet, i don't want what i say somehow getting back to my congregation somehow and next thing you know 4 elders come busting through the door waving "no blood" cards and shouting "freeze, jehovah's witnesses!
How do we know you are not the thought police checkin' US out? Huh? Huh?
Anywho - thats not my photo, Its one I found in a charity shop, Im really a man, I live in a country far far away, and I attend ALL the meetings. I answer up in paragraph 3 of the Watchtower without fail, and I have sex with my husband ... ahem ... er.... wife on Wednesdays when there are no spiritual activities to do instead.

i used to go door-to-door with the most obnoxious elder in the world.
if we approached a house, saw signs of life, but they didn't answer the door, he'd actually go around and knock on their windows!
I was pretty young out on f/s in Southampton / England. Knocked a door and a man came who began to explain he had been a witness, or his wife was one, or something. Something awful had happened, he was too emotionally overcome to tell us the details, then he collapsed in the doorway. He apologised and kind of crawled back inside. He seemed like such a sensitive delicate genuine person.
I felt so awful that I was part of an organisation that had done so much harm to someone, although I couldnt imagine what. It made me think for a long time about the organisation in general.
Naturally we did a back call, although again I felt terrible about 'hounding' him. Second time I think his wife told us not to come back.
I wish I could apologise to him. It happened in 1989.
my whole mothers side of the family made us think like that as well.

I still feel sadness for her though, having to put up with this gift situation. I think maybe irrational jealousy is being fueled by blinkered and selfish behaviour by the b/f. Hes not exactly helping is he. I was wildly jealous of my b/f - stalking, turning up unannounced the works. He spent 2 years telling me it was all in my mind and i was a hyterical woman. Turned out that he had been seeing another girl the WHOLE time and had even moved in with her a week before I found out. I wasnt being irrational at all.

for example, being allowed to pass the microphones is a big deal, especially to a young brother.
or being given the "privilege" of cutting the grass or working on a "quick-build" is really something special to a jw.
women with short hair (mans garb)
low cut blouses (all the pictures show sisters in the new system wearing Laura Ashley dresses with high peter pan collars)
Not having a matching jacket and pants if a brother is giving a talk (yup, gotta wear a suit)
not smacking you kid if they are creating (smacking is a blessing from jehoba)
Not having a watchtower for the sunday study (good brownie points if you've brought along a spare to wave in the air rightously for the microphone boys to collect and hand out to the saddos that dont have one)

Thats a great letter. The problem with it is that it would only appeal to a human being with a mind to think and consider and a heart to be moved to some sort of emotion - so I guess that rules out your intended target audience.
I am truly sorry about what happened to you, and for all the fallout you suffered. Ive watched too many films, but I kept wanting to read that you and the girl got together in the end. Im sorry you havent reached a happy ending yet.

ND - again i think that position is only correct if the b/f was being completely reasonable and giving Crumpet no reason at all to feel jealous.
You are right, just talking to other women is no reason to feel jealous. But hes not just doing that. He is accepting adult clothes as a gift for his 9 year old daughter (!) passing on the message that these clothes would be too small for C (!) and telling C to stop moaning about it. I.e. defending some woman at work against his own g/f.
Well I dunno. He could have been a bit more discreet about the comments he passed on. If I started accepting gifts from men I worked with my partner would definately have something to say about it. (oh look darling this man at work gave me some adult size clothes for my little brother - Yes I know they dont fit him, but look this guy at work is so muscley he said they would be way too big for your small chest) The least he could do is acknowledge her feelings even if he felt they were out of order.
Sometimes I just like to feel like I have been heard, because it makes me feel loved. If i was told to stop complaining, my issue would not be the complaint I had, but that I had a boy/f who couldnt be bothered to listen to me and hear my feelings.
