  The "Flood" caused by a comet impact ...

  this article, which mentions the recent probable discovery of a comet impact crater in iraq around the time for the biblical flood, might interest some on this board.. .

  i personally believe the myth of a global flood is nothing more than ancient legends but then we now know that the earth is routinely blasted by fairly large asteroids and comets that can release the energy of 10 million atomic bombs and dramatically effect life on earth.

  i know what is missing from my life, it is an individual that deep inside i know i have been yearning to know, but never know how to ask if he'll accept me as a friend.

  i do not know how to find him cos i feel so worthless inside.. how do i share my life with jesus?.

  The UN Thing - A Blatant Lie!!

  it occured to me that the wt are always saying the importance of telling the truth in all matters, yet their un membership of the dpi constituted a blatant lie to the same body as well as to their members.. for an organisation that prides itself on telling the truth, and how it really is, recently, that is, one could say that they have not exactly a very clean, perfect slate.

  how are they / can they live with this, as this action on their behalf violates their very own pillars of structure?

  It occured to me that the WT are always saying the importance of telling the truth in all matters, yet their UN membership of the DPI constituted a blatant lie to the same body as well as to their members.

  For an organisation that prides itself on telling the truth, and how it really is, recently, that is, one could say that they have not exactly a very clean, perfect slate. How are they / can they live with this, as this action on their behalf violates their very own pillars of structure?

  Is this the WT pulling their very own foundations out from underneath themselves? I suppose thats what you get with blind men leading the blind.

  Good to see a far more detailed and serious part to this board now, can't think how I managed to miss this before.

  fortunately, i'm off sick, so have the luxury of some free time!.

  I agree with Penn to the extent that thats cool here in a westernised approach to life, but little comfort when you have not eaten for 2 months or more.

  If anyone would like to receive training in humanitarian assistance abroad, the RedR's provide cutting edge training on short, very intensive courses.

  It twinges me often too, very much actually, but relief aid was one of my biggest ambitions as a kid, besides the WT upbringing, perhaps I should just grab the horns so to speak and do it.

  Can these be confirmed and are there any more?

  And what on earth was it, that attracted these individuals to the Witnesses in the first place?

  One or two obviously born into it, the rest?

  hello thirdson.

  little john, ai, i knew him well, he was a watch repairer from st.just way down in the far west of cornwall, died about 4 years back.. he was a real dear, one of the most loved elders you could ever hope to meet, what he lacked in stature he made up for with the biggest heart of gold.

  i can remember at 7 years old being the same height as him and feeling really chuffed that i could look him in the eye.

  Little John, ai, I knew him well, he was a watch repairer from St.Just way down in the Far West of Cornwall, died about 4 years back.

  He was a real dear, one of the most loved elders you could ever hope to meet, what he lacked in stature he made up for with the biggest heart of gold.

  I can remember at 7 years old being the same height as him and feeling really chuffed that I could look him in the eye. Few elders I miss, but little John will always rank amongst one of the nicest people I ever knew.

  when i started reading the parents were religious and then saw home-schooling, i had a gut feeling they were jw's.

  PARENTS - FILL YOUR CHILDRENS NEED!

  Children need guidance and loving discipline, especially from their parents. In this regard, a Brazilian educator, Tania Zagury, says: "The tendency of every child is to seek pleasure. It is necessary to establish limits. It is the parents who have to do this. If they do not, the children get out of control."

  However, in many lands the influence of a permissive society that exalts personal freedom can make it difficult to follow the above advise. Where, then, can parents turn for help? God fearing parents recognise that their children are "an inheritance from Jehovah." (Psalm 127:3) Thus, they look to God's Word, the Bible, for guidance in rearing them. For example, Proverbs 13:24 says: "The one holding back his rod is hating his son, but the one loving him is he that does look for him with discipline."

  The Bible's use of the word "rod" need not be understood to mean only physical punishment; it represents the means of correction, whatever form it may take. Indeed, very often words may be all that is necessary to correct a childs wayward course. Proverbs 29:17 says: "Chastise your son and he will bring you rest and give much pleasure to your soul."

  Children need loving discipline to eliminate undesirable traits. Such firm and kind correction gives evidence that a parent cares for the child. Proverbs 22:6) So parents, take heart! By following the sound, practical counsel of the Bible, you will please Jehovah God and gain your children's respect.

  When I first read this i was staggered by the WT stance on this, as it seemed to openly be encouraging abuse of childrens rights. Men of the WT, are you not totally ashamed of your twistings of the scriptures and the pain you have directly contributed in peoples lives by admonishment of your counsel?

  Shame on you all!!
