  Local Needs - Apostate Warning!!

  had a very interesting local needs part last nite - warning against apostate activity in our area, as well as the dangers of the internet.

  the elder giving the talk discussed how he googled "watchtower" and a whole boatload of sites came up, such as silent lambs, etc.

  WTS and the mass media

  given the extend of the abuse that the wts perpetrates on its members isn't it surprising that they don't get a lot more negative mass media coverage?

  i wonder why that is, is it because they have helpful, powerful connections or because being so rich they can buy them off?

  some extensive publicity in the mass media would cause them serious harm.

  Its simply because JWs are only a minor religion. They don't exactly “shine” there for the whole world to see i.e. not recognized globally as a moral authority such as Catholic Church.

  i do now, the agressive competition of the women playing tennis something excitng to watch.

  the williams sister and shrapova are giving an excellent show.

  Aluminum Chlorhydrate – Cause of Breast Cancer?

  i wanted to post another topic but this morning my girlfriend got this email that frightened a hell out her.

  a friend of hers from europe says that she visited this breast cancer symposium; there she asked one of speakers why it is that most of cancers start underneath arms around armpit area.

  speaker later cautiously replied in private that it was because of aluminum chlorhydrate which is frequently found in anti-perspirants for women.

  Is WTBS now encouraging witnesses to go into business?

  just wondering if youve noticed the same thing.

  last few assemblies ive ever visited ive noticed frequently one phrase brother so and so, an elder, etc, and also running his own business ive heard this time and time again when theyd introduce someone to preset their experience and if im not wrong even once or twice when theyve introduced a new speaker.. .

  ive also heard from others who have noticed the same lately though most of them are interpreting it along the lines well, it is just a good example of how it is possible to be a self-employed witness and not be part of this corrupt business world.

  "Well, The Watchtower is more important then a job, so i can't work Sundays, or Saturday morning, and Thursday nights are out, definitely not Tuesday nights, oh and Monday night I have family study, and Wednesdays during the day I have my own personal study time, and Monday and Thursday mornings I peddle magazines, and Saturday afternnoon's I have a bible study who is learning, and I maybe starting another study on Wednesday nights, but otherwise I can work anytime."

  LOL, I run my own small business and I know the feeling. For any of them to make such a demand they'd have to be pretty darn good at what they are doing (read EXPERTS). Given the general level of education among dubs that’s almost an absolute impossibility. Which brings us back to the “mother ship” WTBS. Considering stupidity of their advice on education (and everything else for that matter) I wonder how average dub survives in this world.
  Even advice to go to college only if you are planning to pioneer, I mean come on, even with degree you find it hard to find FULLTIME job let alone a part time. GB is living in an imaginary world; most of them have never had to work for living and from that (sick) perspective are giving an advice on education. Of course they didn’t need education because everyone else works for them. How does an average dub feed his family of 4 5, 6 or more with a laboring job is another matter. (Actually, long before I’ve started questioning beliefs and everything I’ve come to conclusion that to be JW you’d have to have at least a great job if not your own business.) Considering demands you mentioned (which are real for every dub) is it any wonder that many are frustrated, unhappy, that families break up and the only thing that’s outside is fake façade of living a fulfilled and happy life.?
  Though, to get back to the topic. Considering the intensity as well as frequency with which (owning your own business) has been mentioned I would have to consider that there is a new push by GB to “encourage” dubs to run their businesses – after all “mother ship” will benefit from it. It doesn’t take a brain surgeon to see this.

  yes last concert wasnt as successful as everyone hoped; perhaps weve learned something since then.

  Were You Ever Really Happy or Joyful While a Witness?

  i think most jws have never really experienced "real" joy or happiness in the jw environment.

  i don't think programmed mind controlled people can relate to "normal" things that make the average person happy.

  I was happy as a child, loved reading so I guess first few years prior to my baptism I was simply immersed in literature and fuzzy feeling of "what if.." "What if this is really so" so that was a happy period. About 11 months after getting baptized I've started declining. In fact, I can vividly remember the moment when my decline started; I simply knew that instant deep down that I would eventually stop going from house to house. And I was regular pioneer at the time. I’ve hit the ceiling, though I continued with pioneering for another 3 years, that was truly the peak

  Eventually started feeling new joy only when I was away from everything WTBS related. I the end I just couldn't make a fool out of myself.
