  the andersen carpet company which has stores thoughout queensland is a jw-owned company, i think the orginal bro.

  andersen who founded the company was from gatton (?

  most staff that work there are jw's and jw paraphernalia can often be seen around the sales desks.

  the following is supposedly an actual question given on a university of washington chemistry mid-term.

  the answer by one of the students was so "profound" that the professor shared it with colleagues, via the internet, which is, of course, why we now have the pleasure of enjoying it as well... .

  bonus question: is hell exothermic (gives off heat) or endothermic (absorbs heat)?

  Sport and JWs!!!

  just wondering what your experiences are.

  were you "encouraged" not to devote time to personal exercise, gym or sport in general?

  i remember this one time co gave a talk how "we do not need sport" then he proceeded to explain how walking up the stairs in field service was exercise enough for our legs, then how we didn't need any stretching exercise as making gestures while explaining the bible verses would do the job, and so on.

  in the bible, its says that the hebrews made bricks?

  when they were slaves,what were the bricks used for?.

  also their burden was increased by not giving them straw to make the bricks.. if straw was a vital ingregidients(sp?

  I know that this thread is sort of just for fun, but if anyone wants to know the very first dynasties of Egypt did use bricks made of clay and straw.

  T he word iqdou (Nile mud) was used to designate the profession of the brickmaker and the potter, who used mud from the Nile to make their products.

  T he brickmaker had one of the more menial occupations in ancient Egypt. To make bricks, Nile mud was mixed with sand, straw and water, slapped into wooden moulds and then slapped out onto the ground to dry in the sun. Bricks were used extensively in ancient Egypt for building everything from peasants' homes to the pharaoh's palaces.

  Frog's first semester Uni results are in!

  i realise this is probably quite a dull subject for all my friends here, but this frog can't help but to share her happy moment, cause she's just bursting at the seams with self-congratulatory praise!.

  i just logged on to the uni website to get my long awaited semester one results.

  i knew i had done well with my essays, pop quizzes etc throughout the semester, but i attributed that to the fact that i had weeks to fine tune my writing and research.

  Dad's and daughters...

  lately i've been feeling incredibly frustrated by the relationship i have with a few members of my family who aren't attached to the org, or just hanging in by a thread.

  my dad is one such person, love him to bits, but he really gives me the sh*ts with his poor me act grrrr.

  i just get tired of always being the one who calls, who stays in contact, who visits etc.
