In addition to the valuable comments already made Krystal, sadly your family don't see it as cruelty as such, or if they do they view it as being 'cruel to be kind', they think if you see what you are missing you will want to go back. How TOTALLY misguided they are. It gets to me that these families don't realise that much as they try to emotionally blackmail us, IF we were to go back it would be for the love of our family not the love of God!!! They are just so missing the point!!! Be strong Krystal, there are people that will give unconditional love, as this site shows!!!

Did you enjoy being a JW?
by JH inevery time i went to a meeting, book study, or whatever, the great majority of people looked as if they were truly happy to be a jw.
their smiles looked genuine.
they seemed to love talking to each other.. i, on the other hand, wasn't really happy to be at the meetings.

Their smiles looked genuine. They seemed to love talking to each other.
I always thought the smiles and conversations were very superficial and used to dislike going to meetings. I enjoyed answering up at the Watchtower study, I used to like to hit the nail on the head whereas other would pussy foot round the issues. I also liked going on the FS but realised eventually that if I didn't enjoy the association of other witnesses who was I to go out and preach about what a wonderful worldwide family we had!!!!! i think if you really are a lover of TRUTH then eventually you see through the false image that is portrayed and you cannot get anything out of it.

by el jarocho mayor inwhen people pray does god listen?
does he care?
when prayers are "answered", is that proof of a divine being?

Since I left the borg I can't pray... and I miss it, but I am totally confused about prayer, Jehovah, the borg. Maybe I just used to use it to talk to someone about all the things I can't talk to anyone else about... maybe my motives for prayer were wrong anyway... Maybe Terry is right and we are talking to ourselves, but I would like to think there is a God who listens, and that I could rabbit on to him whether he answers or not!

A JW PEODOPHILE RAPIST WAS BLINDSIDED TONIGHT !!!!
by Apostanator into give you some quick details, my ex-wife and her two sisters were repeatedly raped and molested for years by their jw father.
we went to the elders, and as you probably know, nothing ever really happened to him, all he got was privately reproved.
well,...fast forward,, i remarried and have a wonderfull wife who is also an ex-jw.

These people should be exposed! it is because of keeping it quiet that many of the kids in congregations have suffered...

what do you all think about national service?.
do you think they should bring it back?

Okay.. waded through a load of your comments.. Lets stop a mo and think! Why are these kids like this in the first place... yes often it is their background and upbringing, or the association they keep, maybe they are more deprived, I was brought up in a deprived situation, with abusive parents but I have turned my life round, without help from anyone! Yeah National Service seems a bit harsh, but were the system changed somewhat, that they had to do 6 months not two years, and they had a choice if they wanted to progress further.... Some kids just haven't got a sense of direction, how many of us when we were 16 - 18 knew exactly what we wanted??? As well many have not had the benefit of being brought up with respect and discipline, many do not have respect for themselves let alone anyone else, which is why they abuse themselves with drugs. The attitude today is 'whats the point'?, they perhaps need showing that they can improve their lot!!! They need to see that they can learn certain skills to cope with life. They need to learn self control... Oh!!!!!!!!!! I am so incensed by this subject!! and frustrated because much as we all feel that something should be done.... we can't agree! so no wonder there are so many out there without a sense of purpose in life.. and now I am waffling and not making much sense to I will shut up!!!!

Ending my mariage... but I suppose the wrench was more that I was leaving my youngest behind (though he had a choice). Now the hardest thing is not being able to communicate with him, think about him every day and still hurts like hell!!!

Think National Service should be the answer if they are not willing to work!!! Even if they do want to starve, because in this day and age starving isn't an option, they get too many benefits, or turn to crime thinking its an easier option than working (oh and of course they don't have to declare their ill gotten gains to benefits people). Any in the UK watch Bad Lads army.. with the real thing they couldn't get out so easy!!!

Ouija boards Do you feel they are real or not?Any personal experiences?
by Ticker ini've had several expereiences with ouija boards, some interesting, some disturbing, and as skeptical as i try to be i have to admit i have seen it personally say things and do things that i can not logically explain.
some say its your sub-conscience, some say its spirits, others say its demons.
i am just wondering if any of you have had experiences with the ouija board, what they were, and what you believe about them, supernatural or just another simple amusement?

Personally wouldn't touch one with a barge pole! My mum and sisters were spiritualists, one of them had a poltergeist.. I believe that any spirits out there are only out to cause problems... heard too many bad experiences to believe they could do any good for anyone. My motto 'if in doubt leave it out!!'
