  What are some of your memories pre 1975?

  going to an international assembly 1974 and one of the gb leo greenlees saying"this will most likely be the last international assembly this side of armageddon".. poeple selling their houses.. storing up food.. wondering what went wrong on dec 31 1975!.

  I think all create our own realities and everyone walks their own path. When you are ready to move on, you will and not a moment before - and when you are ready to heal you will and you will look back and be amazed at how fascinating and strong the human spirit can be.

  I don't walk other people's paths, because I realize everyone is different, but if someone asks me about the capabilities of people to overcome things and move on, I know the strength of the human spirit and I have seen people overcome and heal things that from the outside seemed impossible. So I know that you can get past the destructiveness of anything and that you can heal. If you are having true problems doing so, there is nothing wrong with asking for help.

  1. the truth - um nothing could be further from being accurate.

  2. worldly - as if they are 'other worldly' or 'supreme beings'.

  An Interesting YouTube debate I had with a JW

  so most of you have probably seen my youtube video what you should know about jehovah's witnesses, which can be found here.

  naturally, this draws quite a negative response from the jw community, but this particular person decided to send me a personal message.. you wanna talk smack about witnesses or anyone in general you better have your facts straight.

  everything you said is taken almost enitrly out of context to our true practices.

  There goes my screen - I laughed so hard, the dogs outside barked. I was thinking the same thing, everyone makes a few spelling mistakes, but his grammar and spelling is atrocious.

  My Wife Is Getting A Sheparding Call

  i've disassociated myself since february.

  i made no secret of my disapproval of the wtbts and was very vocal to my doubts of it being god's true organization on earth to the po.

  now, the po and another elder has scheduled to talk with my wife tonight for a sheparding call at the home of the book study.

  I have never agreed with the JW religion getting involved in marital affairs, they break more families apart than the military. My heart goes out to you, because it has put you in a terrible position, where you will be forced to make a decision at some point regarding your marriage or it will be made for you. I would sue their asses if they did it. Document everything.

  I'm terrible at friendships!

  i don't call them often enough, or i make an effort in the beginning and then i let it slide.

  I used to be like this, and I just had some really great understanding friends that adored me - but I would cancel at the last minute, double book times to hang out...not return phone calls for days and then I really forced myself to examine why I was doing it and then make some adjustments. I think email messages are great, I don't always like to talk on the phone, but I can always make a connection.

  I think Dale Carnegie's book ,"How to win Friends and influence people" is a great book as a resource for not just maintaining friendships but understanding what reinforces good relations with people.

  "Even if it isn't true" - how many of you heard this one recently?

  i remember first hearing it after the generation change of 95.. a sister answered up at the wt and said "even if armageddon isn't coming, its still the best way to live.".

  i have heard others say: "even if it isn't true, it's still the best way of life.".

  my mother said it a few weeks ago!

  Even if it isn't true, IT'S A LIE and we are forced to follow a religion that has been misleading its flock for almost 75 years.

  That's how someone would logically conclude, however, isn't it interesting how JW's can see the lie but justify it.

  They are being conditioned, it's complete indoctrination. They just can't think for themselves on so many levels.

  I still remember this book, I absolutely loved it as a kid, but then I grew bored of it. I still remember throwing out all my JW stuff when I was 18, fun stuff.

  The only way that last picture could be any more politically correct would be to throw in a Vulcan kid. Hmm... Photoshop idea....

  I know, right? The funniest part is the bible closed and on the floor apart from the kids. Subliminal messaging, perhaps??
