I know it is hard, but go visit your mom already!!!!
Don't borrow trouble. Just love her and see how you can help her through this-bring her some homecooked meals and go clean her house for her next weekend.
i have been trying to engage and talk to my mother and her "natural" personality as much as possible.
she has obvious concerns about the jw's, and we do discuss issues almost every time she visits.
we didn't see her for long stretches (months at at time, and suddenly a year had gone by...) we have now both committed to a minimum of a monthly visit, and we will work toward more.

i just heard on breaking news about a shooter in kansas city.
he is in his 70s and has a decades long history of antisemitic hatred.
i believe he killed three people near a jewish center.
People can hate based on religion, ethinicity, nationality-whatever. I think that like Hitler, they usually use a 'commoner' and more accepted predjudice to justify doing things in their own self interest-because that is what they are all about-their own self interest. Completely.
Oh! it was today? i guess if i cared i wouldve known
my parents shunned me when i was df'ed.
when i got ri'ed they started talking to me again.
when i got divorced & stopped going to meetings they shunned me again.
Just say; my situation hasnt changed. i need to undrstand what has changed in you.
put em on the spot-they are reaching out but you need to protect yourself
hey folks.
just need to check in.
due to an injury, i had to start taking some pretty powerful pain killers and stayed on them for about 1 1/2 months until i finally had surgery this past wednesday.
I've been lucky to never suffer chemical addictions, but I have had a couple of drug reactions. Have a real, live, supportive person close to you as much as you can stand it. Someone that can hear you without judging and who can truly "be there" for YOU at this time. At least till the suicidal thoughts are gone.
Take care. You seem like you have overcome a lot. You can do this.
i was never christened as a baby.
i have been going to my local parish church for a while now.
really enjoying it.. decided i'm going to get baptised into the christian faith.
Beautiful. Keep God first and let the human silliness leave you untouched. Don't complicate your real faith
when i was last here, my mother had recently been diagnosed with cancer.
there were potential issues regarding transfusion, none of which eventuated.
she undertook a course of chemo which worked quickly and effectively, with minimal side-effects.
I'm sorry for your loss. I've been there with my dad. I'm glad your family was not split by thereligious divide.
I think Americans really wnt to make the oscar winning heartfelt speech, but with true emotions, nothing needs to be said. You mom knew everything. She saw how you were handling it and even if she would have liked to have you just sit with her-she knew you, she knew exactly the depth of your love.
I spent a bad week here in Pakistan. We planned to go to Rawalpindi to meet my husbands old Professor and as I was looking into train schedules, noticed that a bomb got a train (Yeah, THAT train.)then I got food poisoning along with my husband. 5 days later, I decided I might live. 2 days ago I was telling him to tell my kids how much I loved them (I'm a drama queen,ok?!) He told me "You don't need to tell family. They know" He's right.
It is nice to have you back!

Sounds like a smart kid that has smart classmates. I wish him all the best and freedom to know what that is.
i live in texas, houston, and pakistan is not a shock to me since i have lived and travelled abroad, but i thought i would share some of the things i have noticed with you.. no one has microwaves.. their toilets are very modern flush toilets-flush with the floor.. the showers well, no stall, no tubs.
just a big room with a toilet and a sink and a shower faucet.. the electricity goes off at regular intervals during the day.
would not freak me out so much if we had any windows in this house!
Im in a neighborhood now called Qasimabad, near the cantonment (original britisharmy camp. We should be here another week, Bad bout of food poisoning and I kind of want to go home early, but we are scheduled to leave on 22 to return to Houston via Istanbul. Haven't eaten for3days. I want food!Im afraid to eat! This house is clean as all get out, but there are 'bugs'that they are used to that I am not. My husbandeither. His body no longer recognizes them. I get the sense though that in spite of their protests, food poisoning is fairly common here.
The people are very loving and caring.
