  Your poor daughter is going to get enough JW nonsense from her mom. Please don't play into the WT dictates and go along with your mom's idea. If she won't see you, she shouldn't see your daughter. Period. Her loss, her choice and don't EVER let her suggest differently (and she will say so, explicitly.)

  I've got a granddaughter who is 3. I would never cut off my kids and expect that I could see my granddaughter. If you live in Texas or Louisianna, come visit me (and stay along with your daughter for dinner!)

  Volunteer workers pushed to renounce to their social rights

  surprisingly in spain, a large quantity of bethel volunteers (nice to words to say workers) have received their letter telling they are not anymore required.

  in this country, government obliged bethel to give social rights such as basic social security (doctors, etc..) to the volunteers as they understand that it is a business relationship.. all of them have been pushed to sign a letter stating they renounce to their work and then go outside bethel with not a single right (unemployment, etc...).

  it is really unfortunately but silly from bethel office to arrange it this way.

  That sounds like such a dishonest scheming way to do things. It seems coercive and if it isn't a crime, perhaps the govt should make it one. That is slavery. I don't approve. The WT is really jumping the shark with this kind of nonsense. No wonder Russia is done with them. And so they SHOULD be. Damn, that's just cold-blooded.

  some sources in spanish forum points 50 millions us$ as the total amount payed to wt lawyers in russia.. despite this they have not stopped the liquidation of russian branch.

  REally? 50 million? That is steep even in the US for lawyers unless it goes on for like a decade and involves BILLIONS of dollars and class actions and crap.

  An Odd Request from Our Ex-JW Son

  my wife and i, both out of the religion for nearly twenty years, live in the same border town as our 44 year old only son.

  we have scant contact with our numerous jw relatives, although a handful of clever "double life" nieces and nephews socialize with our son.. we care for our six year old grandson weekdays while our single parent son makes a living.

  we've been infinitely better grandparents than we were parents, primarily because of our exit from a high control cult, but also because of life experience.

  just wanted to say hello, i have been visiting this site for a very long time and i feel like i know so many of you already, now you can get to know me but for now i'm fading so i cant give my complete story.

  i'm single but have "hardcore" siblings in the religion, thankfully i do have family who never expressed interest in the jws.

  i really checked out years ago from to much mental abuse and no recognition for all that i gave to this organization.

  So Today Was My Wife's First Ever Birthday Party

  she turned one today, and 36 earlier this week.

  we planned a big party, big for two people that have never thrown a party before.

  we rented a church fellowship hall because 1. it was nice and big and affordable and 2. it was kind of awesome to throw a party in a place we would have never ventured in our previous life.
