praying for mass destruction and death
by Cognitive_Dissident inso i was writing a paper the other day, specifically about the skewed world view that i had had as a witness, and i typed the following - .
pain, misery, strife, these were all things that used to prove to me that jehovah's witnesses were correct in their assessment of a dying world which was soon to be liberated/obliterated by the hand of god.
this "liberation" was something that i desperately longed for.

I remember as a kid being out in service and listening to the JW adults as they pointed out the specific houses of dead "worldly" people they would like to move into after armageddon. I dont think they wanted these people dead in a personal way, but virtually all JWs I knew eagerly awaited the destruction of the wicked, worldly people at armageddon and all the associated fringe benefits that would bring.

Prohibition or what ?
by KAYTEE inaccording to the wt, the wine is passed around, once a year, to all those who have been "chosen".
they believe that this is a requirement, set out in the holy scriptures and is proof that they are of the anointed class.. has anyone any idea what happened during the time of prohibition in the us, when it was against the law of the land to purchase alcohol?
did they use a substitute?.

Jws and Magicians

once more the wbts tries to give the impression that they,or at least russell and his followers believed in the late 19th century that christ would return in 1914. .
of course we know that until the mid 1920s at least they believed and taught that jesus .

In Russells "Thy Kingdom Come" they even used the date 1915 in several passages as the end date based on pyramid calculations. I dont recall exactly when or where they officially changed it to 1914, does anyone know?

we all remember where we were and what we were thinking during highly significant events....(e.g.
9-11, jfk, etc)..... if you can recall, what were the first thoughts racing through your mind as you sat at the 1995 d.c. at the infamous 1914 generation change announcement, was it "the final nail in the coffin of your wts beliefs or did you engage in mental gymnastics to try to assimilate the "fresh meat in due season" lol....... i was in such shock at this announcement, i think my mind just blanked out for 10 minutes followed by: "ok, this really is it for me......they have duped us all along", i then immediately started thinking of my 90 year old jw grandmother sitting in the stadium, and what must have been going through her mind......

by anewme indid i just stumble onto something here?
wasnt jesus and the bible speaking to the anointed when it warned against sinning against the holy spirit?
how can those of us who have never received the h.s.

Maybe thats correct, but it was made VERY clear to me, that all JWs were capable of sinning against the holy spirit. Did the WTS ever state that only the annointed received holy spirit? SOrry, its been so long I dont remember any of the theology!
