I hear ya Missy but I guess I am just a be-och!
I haven't talked to my Mom in at least 2 years. She has to live her crazy with out me. I don't wish her any harm but I don't want no part of it. And that's just for constantly judging me and my spirituality. We haven't had anywhere near the hilarious drama you have had. That's why I say I take my hat off to you. I just don't have it in me to deal with it. Nor do I aspire to that. So you Go Gurl!! I will send peace energies your way and have a thought of you when I am drinking my Sangria. When you need someone to buy you a taquila shot and a beer you just let me know. It wont be to 'drown your sorrows' as so would say ... it WILL be to celebrate the fact that you are a survivor and still living life!!!! Keep your chin up and let the tear in your eye be from laughing so hard.
Much love, Smiles

We don't pass the plate, we just demand the $$
by lost_light06 inthe other night during the announcements between the ministry school and service meeting there was a letter read.
i pretty much tuned out the whole thing but what did catch my ear was the request that $4.50 per publisher be contributed by each cong.
for whatever bogus committee the letter was dealing with (sorry i cant be more specific, i honestly dont remember what it was for).

It is VERY hypocritical! That was one of the major things that bothered me right before I got out!! It seemed like every service meeting had 10 minutes of some type of 'need more money' talk.

Lack of Trust
by XJW4EVR inhaving been raised in this cult i still struggle with trust issues.
i just can't bring myself to speak about certain things to people that i have formed a relationship with.
i have such a phobia of having that bond of trust broken, that i won't allow myself to be open to people that i have known, and are good friends.

No particular advice. I just wanted to send you a hug.
Know that you are not alone. If you read the posts on this site you will find many stuggle with not being able to trust (themselves as well as others) and not being "open" (to people or life in general). Fear can easily drive and determine our decisions especially when we were so conditioned to live life in fear as a JW.
Of course those who have moved past it have found a way to trust ... to trust ourselves, others and life (the journey). I wish you that in your life. I do not claim to know how to get you there because what worked for me personally may not work for you. But I can say that if you are opened to be moved to a less fearful more trustful place in your life, it WILL happen. Hang in there.

"LET" as in would I Let my man do this or that is not a word we use in my relationship.
However if he was thinking of growing a ZZ Top beard he would probably ask me if I think it is attractive. And the answer would be NO! Facial hair is not attractive to me. I am too much of a lip admirer.
But hey ... good luck with the bet!!
