OK so I am very late to this one. But as I read some of the post I just had to say ...
Seven006 ... U GO BOY (uhhh MAN)!! The whole "M" and "D" thang is right on the money for me. It's nice to hear that come from someone I have never met!! Many of the other words spoke my experience and outlook at the present time. Niceeeeee ...
Thank U!

Did I do wrong on skeeping the "fading" stage?
by flag inup to last month i was a witness in "good" standing in the cong.
i was not from the elite circle but everybody respects me and a lot of people go to me for advice or comfort when they feel left out by "holy ones".
so, i don't know if i made a mistake by cutting all jw activities at once because now i think i'm the topic of the conversation and phone calls already started to come this past weekend.

Flag I did the same thing. The last meeting I went to I actually gave a talk. I was always one that was considered to be exemplar.
And the rumors started flying about 2 weeks later. Then elders started calling. I dodge allot of calls becasue I didn't want to talk to them and at the time I was afraid of stubbling them. Not for the sake of man but for what I had been conditioned to believe was for god. Anyway, after a while people just started leaving me alone. I decided to briefly say something to the 2 family members that were still in (my mom and sister). And I decided to say something to just a couple of friends.
But for everyone else that eventually just quit pursuing me.
With time everything blos over.

Marriage - Why bother?
by Spectrum inyet another friend's marriage has broken down(5th), this one i did not predict at all.
it came as a shock to me.
they got married after 10 years of living together so it's not like they didn't know each other.

My ideal would be having an exclusive relationship (because my own nature at this point is monogamous) were we each live in our own individual residence. We are available and supportive of each other but there is no ownership nor obligations nor contracts.
Is that impossible to have?

What do you believe now?
by NowImFree ini have been out of the jws officially for over 3 years now, since disassociating.
after researching the history of the organization and reading the bible (without) the watchtower, i am now a christian.
i am just curious what happens to most ex-jws as far as their beliefs go, after they leave the organization.

hmmm ... I am not an 'ist', 'ian' or 'ic' of any kind. I have no use for religion at all however I do consider myself pretty spiritual. I relate more to the eastern way of thinking then the traditional western when it comes to spirituality. But when people try to organize religion around thoughts or beliefs that's when I am seriously turned off.

GBL - sorry you got so annoyed. Breathe and G-B-L.
Tommy will grow up a confused little boy but as he becomes a man he will find his way just like the rest of us. I think we all have a BS meter inside of us ... we just have to get to the point in life where we listen to it.
Besides ... who says one has to be right and another wrong. Can't both exist.

Leolaia, I truly appreciate you openness and view on this. I find that to be so too.
Just mildly annoying ... I guess as I get more de-programmed I find I am following love and not anatomy. But what's interesting is that physically that has still kept me on the hetero side of things.

HOW MANY OF YOU ARE AFRAID OF BEING ON THIS SITE?
by juni ini have heard of this through pms.
to each their own and i can understand the fear-factor - we are only human.
what can they do to ya?

No, I am not afraid. However, I do understand the concept and why others are.
But the bOrg has no hold on me, anymore. Once that was solidified then all their titles (apostate) and threats (DA, DF) have very little if any effect on me. All of that is thier issue not mine. It's a part of their reality ... not mine. Once I truly felt that then most all fear associated with JW's way of thinking/doing things melted. Now I feel .... 'the only thing to fear is fear itself.
