Yes, do all of that. Well, you can't really do the rest if you mark them all return to sender. But other than that, do all the rest!

Were "Theocratic Activities" A Burden To You???
by minimus inif you go to an assembly or convention, you are made to feel that everything is joyful, wonderful, "happifying", paradisaic, unified.
going to 5 meetings, never missing them, preparing for meetings and doing regular personal and family study and pioneering, if at all possible, raising your kids to be perfect little ministers, etc.......all these types of things are supposed to make you feel wonderful!

The concept of trying to fill up pretty much all your free time with JW-stuff comes from, IMO, the prevalent Christian concept that material existence is fundamentally sinful rather than holy and joyful as many other religions do (certain European pagan religions come to mind).
The JWs take it to a bit of an extreme certainly. And my intention is not to paint all Christians with such a broad brush.

I think it depends pretty much entirely upon the attitude of the person at the time.
I can recall that for most of my early life, from birth to probably my early teens, it was just what we did. It was no more a burden than going to public school was, for me.
Going out in service, however, was stressful. I was never an overly outgoing child, so a certain amount of social anxiety was certainly a part of that.
There was one period of time in my mid-late teens where I became super active and no, it was no burden at all. I was fairly committed.

by serendipity inthis week elder z shows up at my house twice, unexpectedly.
the first time i didn't see him, but my daughter did and didn't answer the door.

Y'know, this reminded me of a conversation I had with my father back when I still attended meetings in my teens. My father had said that in the Paradise, at some point, we would no longer have children since in Genesis Jehovah says we are to fill the earth, but not to overflow it, and not to spread to other planets. At some point, he said, it made sense that people would simply stop having children.
My problem with this, at the time, was that I could not comprehend Jehovah "discontinuing" a biological function that is the source of such wonder, commitment, love, excitement and pleasure (being perfect, none of the negatives would exist, right?)
How could God take away such a part of what it is to be human?
So, at some point, according to him, there would no longer be any children, at all.

In Internet Explorer, you may select only the text you want to print, then right-click on that highlighted text. On the secondary menu you get, choose print. On the print dialog box, in the Page Range area, choose the "Selection" radio button. It should print only the text you have selected (highlighted).

People who see EVIL object in pictures, are really reaching!
by free2beme ini sit in my bathroom on a daily basis, using the facilities.
as i do this, to pass the time i will sometimes look at the pattern in the wallpaper or floor and see if i can make out things.
at times i think it looks like a face, or maybe the shape of a object or country.

The oddest thing... I just did a google image search for "ram live forever book" and the top link, sponsored, pointed to this site. You Can Live Forever on Paradise Earth.
You will note that the first "Vital Link" takes you to a page that redirects you to... the official WBTS website?!?

If You Were Raised In "The Truth" Did This Happen to You?
by XJW4EVR inlast night i was reminiscing about my teenage years, and this came up.. in the congregation i was raised in there were a number of contractors.
i knew that college was out of the question, and i didn't want to run the family busines (though i ended up running it for a time).
so i asked a number of these elder contractors if they were willing to appentice me in their trades.

Follow your passions. I know someone who used to work with people who were struggling and needed assistance with job placement, careers, etc. He had this one woman in his office and when he asked her what she would really like to do, she told him that she wanted to be a psychologist, though she was not in college at the time. Being smart, he asked her what she had done to prepare herself for this. What books had she read, etc. She said she had not read one thing, no Freud or Jung even. She had just read some article about it and decided that was what she wanted to do.
He noted that had she pursued that path, she would not likely have ben very successful as she had no passion for it, and tried to convince her to consider other option.
If you have a passion for something, you have a duty to yourself to follow that passion.
