I didn't say that pedophelia was the same as homosexuality. All I implied was why doesn't the same argument apply??? Don't read something in that isn't there!

1corinthians 6:9 men who lie with men will not inherit gods kingdom.
so i guess its ok for women to lie with women cause we're not mentioned in there!
lol

If the subject is changed to pedophelia, the majority of the pro-gay "arguments" would apply. Does that make it right? There is a limited but growing group of people who are pushing this agenda. 20 years ago it was a limited but growing group promoting gay rights.
What say ye o' gay-rights aficionatos; will sex-with-children rights be fashionable to you 20 years hence?

lmfho .
lets first start off with the islam.. supposedly, the great prophet mohammed married a 7 year ol girl, but agreed not to consumate the marriage until she was 9.. (must we conclude that the founder of the islam was a pedophile?
now christendom.. mary conceived a child while virgin.
Avenger, much of Christendom has the habit of twisting what the Bible says. JW's are a prime example. Is it your past association with them that leads you to follow their example? Even if you don't accept the Bible as inspired, there's still no reason for such distortion.

looking back, did your being a jw hurt you all that much???
?
I don't understand how anyone, especially after listening to stories like Orangefatcats couldn't feel empathy toward such suffering. I've shared stories like these with witness aquaintences as well as JW family. They always take up for the organization, saying that the individual must have been spiritually weak and deserving of such treatment. Sick.

i was envolved about 16 years ago in a committee that sole purpose was to disfellowship a respected member of the congregation for being an apostate.
we recieved information from the wt legal department and co and do on how to proceed.
often the co and do would meet with us individually to sort of direct the process.
Assume for a minute that you are having one of those meetings with two or three elders. Among the questions they ask: Do you accept Jehovah's witnesses to be 'God's spirit directed mouthpiece'? You answer Yes.
Next they ask: Do you accept that Christ was sent by Jehovah to die for our sins, was born of a virgin, was in the grave for three days and then resurrected? You answer that, while believing in God, you have doubts about the accounts accuracy.
Based on these answers, your status in the congregation probably wouldn't be jeopardized. They would probably suggest that you study literature about Jesus' resurrection and encourage you to pray for strength etc. etc. Reverse the two answers and you you're gone. Just goes to show that the organization is number one, above even Christ.

Sorry, Chappy, but alcoholism, drug addiction are inherited predisposition to the disease.
True Brenda addiction can be inherited. Children of alcoholics have a 50% chance of becoming alcoholics, in fact the actual gene has been identified. That being said, addiction does not have to be an inherited condition. Alcoholism and drug addiction also manifests itself when there is no history of it in the family. For me it was an escape mechanism; escape from, among other things, the WT lifestyle. I felt like I was drowning in it as all of even my extended family were witnesses. I hated the lifestyle. I hated the micro-control. I hated not being able to live a normal life. I hated being told I was to stupid to comprehend the Bible w/o the WT. I hated not being allowed to express myself when I found inconsistancies with doctrine. I knew it was a lie from the time I was 13, about the time I started drinking and drugging.
Been on the wagon now since 1998 which just so happens to be the last year that I entered a KH.

recently my mother dropped in on us and in front of other people, very nicely handed me some trinkets aka dust collectors for my house and some wts magazines.
the way she handed everything to me at once i just held out my hands and took it all.. i threw the magazines away immediately, i consider them trash and don't even want them around... but then decided exactly what i was going to do.
i am going to buy a yard sale cross or virgin mary statue and give it to my mom.. i specifically told her i don't want any publications and she slipped them in anyways.... so, on that note, she hates any religious icons, i am going to give her something that she doesn't want.
The only thing I would do differently is substitute religious literature for the trinkets. She'll toss 'em for sure, but at least she couldn't say anything to you for trashing her literature without exposing her hypocracy.

Hmmm lets see; alcoholism, drug addiction, divorce(s), clinical depression, etc. etc. I certainly don't place blame on the WTS for all of this; I am responsible for my actions. I have no doubt however that had me and my family never been associated with the Borg that things would have been much more fulfilling and pleasant for us.

the society's new book 'organized to do jehovah's will', to be released in the congregations .
on the 20th of march, introduces a change in the df and da announcements.
announcements will read the same: "[name of person] is no longer one of jehovah's .
I wonder how this will affect those of us who were born into the organization and faded away but never baptised? Does anyone know of individuals who were never baptised but were df'ed?

the article that bothered me the most was when they said if you work in a doctors office you must report to the elders if a brother or sister comes to the doctor with a (questionable) problem..
i read this comment by galaxy7 in an older post, never heard this before.
does anyone know which publication?.
