  Demon Experiences

  i believe that in the past i've started threads about ghosts and such but i haven't started one about me asking others if they have had a personal experience with a demon.. a couple of days ago i was talking to my dub son-in-law about how i wish i could believe in the unseen....such as ghosts, the paranormal, or anything out of the ordinary.. he said to me......"well what about demon stories"?

  he related some stories that were given at an assembly from some who were greatly bothered by demons, mostly from africa.. so, what are we to make of those with such stories?

  are they lying?

  Need the english titles of some old Watchtower-books...

  i`m helping a friend with a book project (translating his book from danish to english), and i need the correct titles of some jw-books that are not on the cd-rom (cause they`re too old, i think).

  i don`t know the exact titles, but as i translate the titles from the danish titles, they must be something like this: .

  thy will be done on earth (the danish issue was published in 1961).

  i`m helping a friend with a book project (translating his book from danish to english), and i need the correct titles of some jw-books that are not on the cd-rom (cause they`re too old, i think).

  i don`t know the exact titles, but as i translate the titles from the danish titles, they must be something like this: .

  Make sure of everything ((in Danish 1955 (I`m far off on this one, I think))

  Preach and teach in peace and ...(something) (in Danish, 1960)

  God must be Truthful (in Danish 1952)

  Hallowed be Thy name (in Danish 1965)

  Please help, I`m almost done with my part of the project...

  Dave Mustaine of Megadeth was raised as a JW.

  megadeth is a heavy metal band fronted by dave mustaine, who was raised as a jehovah's witness.

  mustaine was the original lead guitar player for metallica,in the early 80's, before they kicked him out for drunk behavior.

  i have been a fan of megadeth for years, but recently found out he was raised as a jw.

  I agree with Bigdreaux. The Black Album was their last good album, imo. Kill`em all and Master of Puppets were the best ones. But Hetfield has said, concerning their upcoming album, that it`s gonna sound like a mix between the Black Album and ...and Justice for all. I So maybe it will be good, I don`t know. And I hear that when they play shows now, they mostly play the old stuff, so maybe they want to get back to the good, old days, and sound that way again too. I hope so.

  Yes, he`s a born-again now. The lyrics on Megadeths new album are pretty "evangelical" in some songs. I didn`t know he was raised as a jw either, but it makes perfect sense. He wasn`t just a drunk, he was a full-time junkie for a while, and overdosed several times. When they checked his blood after one overdose, they found traces of some 15 different drugs...it`s a wonder that he didn`t die.

  The sacrifice of Christ to redeem humankind, Why?

  the perfect man and woman, soon after being created, failed short of god's requirements and so sin was introduced into the world.

  according to the watchtower, god's law required a "life for a life" and so a perfect human needed to be sacrificed, i.e., killed, in order for humanity to be redeemed.. my simple question concerning this doctrine is....why?.

  how does the death of a human, perfect or otherwise, help matters?

  The old israelite custom of once a year putting all the sins of the tribe on a ram, and sending it out in the wilderness (to die). The idea of a "ransom sacrifice" is not unknown in other cultures either, I think. It`s the old idea that "well, someones gonna pay for this (and it`s not so important who)".

  The date of the close of that 'battle' is definitely marked in Scripture as October, 1914. It is already in progress, its beginning dating from October, 1874.
  Zion's Watch Tower, 15 January 1892, page 1355

  "...we consider it an established truth that the final end of the kingdoms of this world, and the full establishment of the Kingdom of God, will be accomplished by the end of A.D. 1914" (Watchtower founder, Charles Taze Russell, The Time is at Hand, p. 99).

  "¼...the 'battle of the great day of God Almighty' (Rev. 16:14), which will end in A.D. 1914 with the complete overthrow of earth's present rulership, is already commenced" (Ibid., p. 101).

  "CAN IT BE DELAYED UNTIL 1914?...our readers are writing to know if there may not be a mistake in the 1914 date. They say that they do not see how present conditions can last so long under the strain. We see no reason for changing the figures - nor could we change them if we would.
