Are you an efficient personality?
by free2beme inif i were to say .... "we are camping this weekend, i will pick you up on friday at 5pm and you need to have all your stuff ready to go.
you will need everything, as i am only bringing enough for myself".
... friday is about six days away.

Can I be an efficient procrastinator? Cause I plan everything out well in advance, make detailed lists and get everything together that I need. Then I put then final touches off to the last minute. For example, I had a pp presensation on friday that I knew about for a month, I researched everything right away, had all documents neatly together and highlited with specfic points, It was due friday at 10:40 am, I finished it at 10:33 am. My teacher said it was the best one he had seen so I got full marks. Lesson learned? Procrastination does pay off. Hahahahaha. Dams

Were any of you ever...
by LaCatolica in...teased, harrassed, tormented in school because you were jw and couldn't participate in what other students participated in?
how old were you when it began to happen?
how did you feel and how did you react to it?

We would get pulled out of school if the class was having a party. Otherwise we had to leave the room for everything fun and instead got extra homework. The kids were good about though, I don't remember ever being teased or picked on for being JW. I think because I wasn't happy being one and they picked up on that and felt sorry for me.
The students I did have problems with were a couple of JW kids. They reported everything I did and said to their parents who in turn would phone my parents. If the phone rang at 4 pm I knew I was in trouble. I beleive their tattling played a big part in me being homeschooled for high school

Slack-asses that don't show up to class and then want me to teach them the entire chapter in 20 minutes before the test
People who book massage appointments and then don't show and don't call or answer their phone, this means I don't get paid
Passive-aggressive people are my number one pet peeve. I can't deal with these people at all

Special Field Service Campaign at DA
by limbogirl ini have this memory of going to a da back in the mid to late seventies -- i was about 8 years old -- and there was a special field service campaign.
seems to me that one of the assembly days was shortened and everyone was given a service kit -- some tracts in a plastic bag -- and everyone was to go out and preach for the remainder of the afternoon.
i remember going with my dad to get in line to pick up the bag of tracts and then going into the neighborhood around the stadium to witness.

I remember doing it in 1985 montreal international assembly
I was at this one but we didn't go out in service~ we went back to the campsite instead!! As a 9 yr old this option was much preferred.

"No fear" t shirts, forbidden???
by free2beme inin the 1990's there were a lot of things that had the saying "no fear" on it and one of the local elders figured out that this meant we live life and do things without fear.
so that basically we could try things and take chances, without the normal fear we associate with things in life.
well in a special needs talk they decided that "no fear" t shirts should not be worn by good witnesses and they asked that we not wear them to witness gatherings, or even in life.

We had that "special needs" type talk about those shirts as well. We were also counselled against buying brand name clothing that had the brand prominiently displayed on it.

Keiths' misfortune proves my point...
by Gregor in.
just heard that keith richards fall out of a palm tree a few days ago was pretty serious after all and he had to have brain surgery.
if there is a god why didn't he put a big pillow under him when he fell?

If only he had Mick's lips ... they would easily cushion the fall. :p OK, that was mean.
No that was funny
