those of you that know i am about to tell my wife what i have learned about jws religion soon.
we're talking likely less than a week.. anyways, i have in the past couple months dropped hints about moving somewhere else.
our house has literally tripled in value since we purchased 5 years ago, and we bought some property last year that has gone up 600%.
Wow! Being debt free sounds awesome. Hope the talk goes well with your wife. If I had to do it all over again I think that I would go with the fade.

Scotsman , it was common in canada to be strongly encouraged to purchase 4 door sedans or even better vans in order to be able to take more people out in service and make it easier for publishers to get out of the backseat.
Several young people were counseled when they bought 2 doors as their first cars as they weren't putting the preaching work first.

The mind numbing material shuts your brain off so you don't bother to question it. If it was exciting (or heck even NEW) then there would be more of the 'inquiring minds want to know' personal investigations going on.

i used to try and avoid running into jw's after i was first d/f, but the past few years i have taken a different spin on it.
at my old job as a cashier if i was the only cash open then they had no choice but to have me wait on them.
the apprehension on their faces as they approaached was hysterical.
It's similar to the torture you put your siblings thru. You know when you have your finger an inch from their eye, chanting "I'm not touching you"

Another fun game is " follow the good J'Dub" While out and about shopping casually get closer and closer to any JW you know all while being totally engrossed in whatever items you are looking at. When they go to a different section of the store, you follow all while not making eye contact of course. See how long it takes them to flee in a panic
The most fun version for me now is "Flirt with the JW girls Man" Take one JW girl, add her man who hasn't a clue who you are. Make eye contact only with him. Accidently brush hands while reaching for the last item on the shelf, smile lots Bonus points if you can blush a little. A casual laugh with " My! we can't stop running into each other can we?" Then toss your hair. I have been known to wink at the really cute ones. Count the number of times she shoots you looks of death and pulls him away.

i am slowly ramping up the wheels of apostacy and have begun telling a few people to help brace the fallout of me telling my wife.
i have many relatives that aren't jws - both on my side and on my wife's side.
i've already told my dad (who was never a jw - to which i am eternally grateful), and some nonjw business people that i am also friends with.. my wife's brother was never a jw.
Congratulations on your decision! It's not an easy one to make or follow thru on. I hope that your wife takes it well, maybe she already has an inkling and it won't be too much of a shock to her. Keep us all posted, we are here to help support you.

i hit the pillow early last night, first week back at uni is really taking its toll after a month of sleep ins and so on lol!
i must have stirred around 11pm and started reflecting on a list of thoughts that i reserve for quiet moments.
after reading a number of threads on posters that attended the dc this year, it crossed my mind momentarily last weekend that perhaps i might do the same, even if only for a couple of hours on saturday??
Froggie, you are very brave if you go. I think I would probably have a panic attack and pass out! Best of luck if you attend.
