Long silence broken
by seek2find ini have held off posting here for a long time, i have read this board from nearly its begining, and have been tempted to post before, but haven't.
i am a life long witness, and so is my spouse.

It showed that we are a product of our enviroment and all that we know is what we see... and what we are taught about what we cannot see.
The GB is Cristoff, interesting that they mention where would he go in the movie (sound familiar) and just befor Truman left the set, Cristoff mentioned that he was too scared to leave. The GB counts on our fear, very effective tool.OC

The Watchtower Caste System & How We All Bought Into It
by minimus inif you were a jw, you know that everything hinged upon getting privileges, doing more, climbing the theocratic ladder.
if we "made it" to ministerial servant, our goal was to reach out and be an elder.
if we were part of a family that had an elder, m.s.

The big problem I saw was that their is always one elder who controls everything, he sort of keeps everyone in line from MSs to less influential elders. And when these type of elders have sons, it is even worst because then they push them up the so called ladder and usually these guys are the worst of the worst, they don't even try to sincere, cause daddy will take care of them. They make up most of the group that goes out in the field service, despite the hardships on them. They are looked upon as interlopers by other Witness women because of their single status, and viewed as potential threats to these women, as Witness women are oftentimes blamed for the sexual weakness and lust of the men in the congregation.
Country Girl,I have to agree 100% with this paragraph, I have seen this bold as blazes. Made me sick to see exactly what you are speaking about. Young females are also made to feel like they are the ones to blame when a brother steps across the line. Being compared to pagan women who seduced the Israelite men whick led to the death of 85,000. With this thinking in place you can not catch much of a break.

Far Away
by Cori injust an update on my situation at home with my wife.
after reading coc, and after the counsel from some on this board, i have decided to wait, and not go full head on with a religious discussion with my wife.
as i had mentioned, she is not an active witness (we dont go to the meetings or in service), and even recently discussed our daughter's birthday.

Cori, I just take it one day at a time. I leave hints here and there and she knows how I feel, but we kind of avoid getting into any real discussion about it.
She seems more willing to miss than ever before, but I still take her when she feels the need to go. I sit and keep myself from letting out any large sighs that can be heard, I also try to control my smirk and facial expressions, but it is all very hard and yes sometimes I think some of those talks will drive me nuts also....LOL
Keep peace with your wife the best you can and let her come to it on her terms. Just my thought for what it is worth.

I know exactly what you mean, my wife goes through the same thing. We could be fine for awhile, not going to the meetings. late dinners on TMS night, going shopping Sunday morning...and then all of the sudden, shes begging me to accompany her to a meeting. I think your right about the FOG....
Wow, you must be my clone, I could not of phrased it better for us than this. OC

LOL, I have been at every social level within the congregation from fatherless boy to Elder with a good job and no problems that other could see. And since I am social by nature, many gravitated to me at that time. I was that way for a several years and than the slow decline in status, than I began to see the other side of being tolerated. LOL
By the way, I know enjoy the status of being invisible...that is the best one yet...lol

Hi cuddles, You will talk to some of us who are still in like you, but have serious reservations and might have left long before now if it weren't for family and friends.
It has been a great help to me to see that I was not alone in many of my feelings all those years.
