My daughter and her grandparents
by kwintestal insince i talked to my father after my disfellowshipping and he hung up on me, i haven't talked to my mom or dad.
last month when we were in ontario i talked to my uncle and aunts about how my parents are treating us (shunning) and we got a lot of support from them, and they can't understand why my mom and dad would treat us like that.
anyway, my 7 year old daughter overheard the conversations, even though i was trying to keep the situation away from her as i don't think a child really needs to know all the details of the situation.. on the drive home out of the blue my daughter says she wants to call my parents, so we ask why?

Kwin; I have been reading the posts and trying to find the words to say....after meeting you little girl i know she is so innocent in all this but it will be your parents who will lose out on the precious gift of grandchildren and they will suffer but we all know they only have themselves and the WBTS to blame. You are no disfellowshiped now so why not suggest lunch with you and the kids? I don't know, I guess I am grasping at straws trying to think of something rational. You guys are great parents and I know you will make up for anything they are missing in the way of love and attention....Hugs to the kids from the swimming pool lady!! and my love to you and J too.

remember apostates holding signs outside the convention?
by in a new york bethel minute ini remember there was one that used to go to my hall.
he would say hi to my dad and my dad would ignore him.
i know now that my father feels bad for that, but at the same time he had no choice.

we had a guy in a prisoner's suit...black and white stripes pacing around the district convention one year...I did't quite get the gist of it but he probably meant that we were prisoners without bars....at least that is what i felt like most of the time...Prisoners of the Watchtower.

A must read!!!! Reminded me of the dub's paradise!
by kittyeatzjdubs ina recent thread that was started about the dubs view of remarrying in paradise reminded me of a book i read many times in high school.. the giver by lois lowry.
it's basically about a boy who grows up in a perfect utopian world.
there's one elderly man who remembers how the real world was and he passes the truth on to the boy.

In times of sorrow I think we need all the comfort we can get...I, too, have lost my mom and it is indeed a terrible loss no matter how sick the mom was. We just have one mother..and mine too was my best friend..I think your ex will be grateful for your words...

I was brought up with gospel music...played piano...sang with my dad and three sister in harmony in churches...I left it all behind when I got the "troof". I missed it a lot...We sang beautiful Christmas songs together...My sister is a stand up bass player in a Bluegrass Band and she knows a lot of Bluegrass Gospel music and people I have never heard of...This summer I went to a festival on a Sunday and all bluegrass gospel music was playing all day...it was refreshing...I hope someday to get back to the music that I gave up.....The Gaither family has great gospel tunes..
