We had a guy..he was df for awhile.. rumor had it that he was cheating his workplace but who knows.. later he was reinstated..He wife and two young sons were not well mentally. At our BS the kids would rock back and forth for the hour..he would give them a smack and they would rock more.. He was 30 years older than her.. she met him thru his daughter when she was a teen. He was a real nut. She worked with my husband for awhile and he would come into the store and say.. WOMAN, its time for lunch.. ..he always just called her Woman!.. a few years later he was arrested for sexual touching of a minor under 14...and spent time in jail.. she ended up in the mental ward of the hosp..and is kind of a zombie now. After his arrest, one of my friend's daughter said he used to tell her and other kids to get some candy out of his pocket at the meetings... what a sicko.. I had a young daughter then too and no one"in authority" at the KH ever told me that he was arrested or in jail or anything about what he had done... I saw him at the last memorial that I went too. He looked like he was just fine!!!

Ian (Dansk) in hospital with CMV

claire asked me to let the board know that ian is back in the hospital and expected to be there for about a week.. those of you who have been following the weekly vigil thread know that his cmv has returned.
the virus is not responding adequately to the tablets, so ian needs to be medicated intravenously.. please keep ian and claire in your prayers.. marjorie.

Random Taste of Perfume
by Nosferatu ini figured i'd ask here since i can't seem to find any answers on the net.
occasionally, i will suddenly taste perfume in my mouth.
it's not even a mild taste, it's pretty strong.

Some medications can cause a metallic taste in your month. Even the anitbiotic Biaxin has that side effect. Are you on any meds at all? or vitamins? It would be a good idea to mention it to a doctor as it could be a sign of an illness.

Mental anguish happened to me when my two young sons were kidnapped by their JW father and taken to another part of the country, hidden by JW's and assisted by elders in the home congregation. This happened a long time ago but this mental anguish never goes away whenever I have to "go there"...There has never been anything worse that has happened to me in all my life. Still suffering mental anguish!

Let JWD find the true number of partakers!

if there are approx 9000 partakers in 90,000 congregations then 81,000 congregations don't have partakers.

Out of three halls here....zero partakers... in the last few years.. there used to be a very old lady at one of the halls that used to partake but she has since passed away.

New Year Traditions

there was one i think i heard having to do with eating black eyed peas on new year's eve for good luck, i know there are more i'm missing.... do you observe any new year traditions?.

Everyone kisses everyone at midnight after the countdown! We sing "auld lang syne" a scottish song which means for times gone by. It is like singing goodbye to the old year. Eveyone holds hands and sings and sways...sometimes sway a little too much! A great time for families and friends to be together.

Was mold a problem in your hall?
by DT init seems like almost every hall i went to had a mold problem.
i couldn't even enter the last hall i attended without getting sick.

The basement in the hall was full of mold. One year it was our turn to clean the basement at the annual big cleanup and one of the men brought some kind of chemical to get rid of it.. He started spraying it all over the cement walls while we were down there and I started to get a headache.. His five year old son was down there and I said to him...that he shouldn't let his son breath that stuff in and he said it was safe for humans.. I had to leave..I felt so bad for his little boy.. If it gave me a headache then what was it doing for the little boy.. They sold that hall to people that opened a day care in it.. Poor kids.. I wonder if they every knew....

Gripping novel.. I know it will do well. I am so sorry that you had to go through some terrible things in your JW life and I know it will never go away.....I wish I could write a book myself.. get it all out. My children were abducted by their JW father and assisted by Witnessess in any part of the country. I lost complete touch with them for six months and they were only four and nine. My heart was totally ripped out of me. I can forgive but I can never, ever forget... I truly hope you will get some relief from your suffering with this writing. I heard that Alberta lowered the age for hiring to 12 and that some of the Tim Horton's had 12 year olds standing on stepstools ringing in the coffee! Here on the east coast we have lost a lot of our young people to life in the West...big money for them. I understand the standard of living is very high though so I guess you have to think long and hard about what you want. Housing prices here are going up but are still very reasonable. We are min wage of 7.50 I think. Apartments are anywhere from 400-1000 a month. Homes are still in the 100,000-300.000 range for a decent place..
