My ex was not a jw and he was abusive and didn't take care of his family so i divorced him. During our marraige he told me that if I left him he would sleep with other women. When I married my now hubby and had an elders meeting they discussed this and I told them about what my ex had told me and had even recently told me on the phone. They had to have proof.. like a letter. Now why would my ex want to HELP me be okay in a religion he didn't agree with so I could live happily ever after with someone else. So I told them about an e-mail that i had that the ex had sent me and they weren't going to except it since you can easily fake e-mails. I couldn't believe it.

Honeymoon Disfellowshippings
by dozy inone of the anomalies of the disfellowshipping process is the common situation when someone who is unscripturally divorced remarries.
in these occasions , the instruction is to always disfellowship the individual , regardless of repentance or attitude - what is referred to as a honeymoon df in elders jargon.
hence you have the (to me) bizarre situation of privately reproving a child molester , rapist or murderer one week and disfellowshipping a newly remarried middle aged sister who has been divorced for 20 years the next week.

My husband was stuck watching spongebob the other day and it was one that I have seen many times with the kids. He was caught enjoying it alot. It was showing kids how rumour and hysteria can turn people against one another in an instant. (The one where his snail starts biting people and they are calling it MAD SNAIL DISEASE . When all is really wrong is he had a thorn stuck in him) My husband and his friend were slightly surprised at how adult the lesson was. That is really the only way I could survive watching cartoons for as much as I have too. The Backyardigans did a skit that was like the movie 'clue'. It was funny.

93. "God will destroy all non-jws at armageddon" That would not be a right and just god. He will no destroy those who have not had the chance to hear about jehovahs god and his message.
I thought that he will only destroy the ones that have heard the news and haven't chosen to join the JWs. So theoretically ones that haven't heard of the news would get the chance to walk through armegeddon alive and get into the paradise on earth and at that time choose to follow or die. But i was also told that the ministry work has been so widespread that by this time there are very few people who haven't heard of the JWs message.

What I love the best is that all the bad stuff is blamed on satan and demons and you not attending meetings or studying or praying. The good stuff is blamed on doing all the good stuff and having faith. But what about the worldly people that win the lottery at a crucial time in thier lives when they were about to be evicted and then won the lottery? oh.. that is satan pulling them away from the truth by distracting them with material things. If a witness comes into good fortune it was Jehovah taking care of his people.

Have you ever worked in the ministry with someone who is afraid of dogs? Usually we encourage the person not to run. Why? Because the dog will Chase after and probably overcome the person or child if they run. As servants of Jehovah we are constantly being attacked by 'dogs' - that is, Satan and his demons. They want to get us. Thus, we may be plagued with problems, such as, worries about money And how to make ends meet (economics), some of us have health problems, Others family problems, and the list go on and on. But how can we endure when being attacked? Deut. 11:22, 23. In this text Jehovah promised Israel that if they would strictly keep his commandments and CLING to him, he would back them against the nations and they would dispossess them. In the case of a child that is afraid of dogs, usually what he does when a dog comes around, is to hold the parent's hand tight -- even cling by grabbing hold of the parent's leg. Jehovah wants us to cling to Him when we are Being attacked by the 'dogs'. How do we cling to Jehovah? 1Cor.15:58. This text encourages us to become steadfast, unmovable. In other words, cling to Jehovah. We do this by 'having plenty to do in the work of the Lord.' We must keep busy by: 1. Regular attendance and participation at the meetings; 2. Personal study with meditation and reflection; 3. Regularly sharing in the disciple-making work; and 4. Prayer: This builds our trust in Jehovah. Thus, we don't run. Sadly some run when being attacked by the 'dogs'. They run from Jehovah and His organization. They forget that animals usually don't attack individuals in a group. Rather they go after the person Who runs. Even if the individual runs fast, sooner or later the dog catches up. We need to cling to Jehovah and His organization. We all need to develop a close, personal relationship with Jehovah so that when The 'dogs' attack, we 'Don't Run.'

This friend of mine that I have known since..birth ... doesn't go to meetings anymore. She hasn't for a while and the only problem she has is that she has no friends. She plays the lottery.. --oooohhhh-- and lets her kids attend b-day parties. So today i just asked if she thinks the only reason you get Df'd is if you are repentant. She thinks that is true. I explained mine and my hubbys situation and how that isn't always true. Then I vented about how my dad quit going to the meetings to take care of my mom and no one comes by to visit or be friends unless they are out in service and doing sheparding calls. - her response lets me know she isn't going to the meetings but she is still full blooded JW. " This system we live in is hard"--- Ugh.. she used that tag word! Why did she have to use THAT word. She went on to say if maybe she moved to her brother that goes to the meeting regularly they might be motivated to attend and finally have friends again. - Oh well.. we are still friends but i realize that for now she isn't open for that kind of discussion.. bummer

Brigid- thanks for the response. I was remembering the first time my eyes were forced open by logic and how scary it was. It was my first husband before we were married. I had found out I was pregnant and told him we can't celebrate xmas..etc. He asked me why- i said cause its pagen. He told me almost everythign has pagen origin. Who is the person selected to pick and choose what we can or can't do. What criteria makes one thing no longer pagen..etc. It sounded logical but it went against everything i knew. I freaked out and hid in my closet crying and rocking myself in order to calm down. That led to my eyes being open to other things. I fought against it at first but logically knew i couldn't win. I think dad is at the point to where his eyes are open and he isn't fighting tooth and nail .. maybe just tooth. He is aware that the way he is thinking and if he is found out reading this book that its considered apostasy. He knows it would be wrong to consider it apostasy since it is just logical. He almost cried the other day thinking about what me and my brother went through and feels its his fault for not seeing this sooner. I told him it is all okay.I told him we are good kids and love him very much and know that its not his fault. He adds" yea.. i was just doing what every one was / is doing".

Sorta. I took the advice that i was given here to go to the library for a copy of CoC. I was at my dads last weekend and went to his library with him. They didn't have it in but would order it. I would be visiting again in a week so that was good. Then dad tried to find a book and they had to order it too. I heard her tell him that our books would be in at the same time. (he didn't hear what book i ordered). I talked to him on Friday about me coming over on Sunday and he said that he got his book and some other book that he didn't order. When i showed up and mom was out of the room I asked him if he looked at the book. He said no. I just opened the book to where it said -written by Ray Franz former member of the Governing Body of Jehovahs Witnesses. You would have thought I showed him a fairy with the reaction I got. Like.. OH my.. what is this...where did you get it... !!! He immediately wanted to scan through it and started reading the letters in the back of the book while i chatted with my mom in the back room to keep her away. Later back in the living room he tried to whisper something to me about the book in front of mom- i didn't understand. Later he repeated that "I want to read the book too!" !!!!!!! What??!!!!!! We were going to the meeting cause my youngest daughter wanted to dress up and go somewhere so we killed a few birds with one
visitstone. It was also to support dad. I took the book with me to the meeting .. sorta like an anchor so that i didn't get sick to my stomach during the talk. We got a good dose of guilt trip about watching TV like a drug instead of doing spiritual study. When dad saw me bringing the book out of the house he said " I thought you were gonna let me read it!'. lol I left it with him and said I would let him read it and i would get a copy from a friend. He is starting to back away from reading it already and its only been a day. Its like too much truth at once. I can't believe my dad is reading the book before me !!!!! lolRayvin
