"Harsh words my brother. I find it odd that you haven't mentioned anything SPECIFIC that talks about an evil agenda of hate, you lambast the whole article. Typical. What do you want to do next? Ban the Bible? Avishai, I agree now that this may not have been the best thing to post to discuss gay rights, apologies. Truthseeker" Typical? I lambast the whole article because it breaks the Posting Guidlines. Are you illiterate? I've known many JWs to read what they want but usually ex-JWs have broken that habit. If you haven't seen the posting guidelines, here they are: Posting Guidelines To ensure all users feel safe and keen to participate, please avoid: 1. Insulting, threatening or provoking language 2. Inciting hatred on the basis of race, religion, gender, nationality or sexuality or other personal characteristic.

People who write these articles and share them with others are disgusting and are pushing an evil agenda of hate. This should not be allowed on this board. What's next, neo-nazi sympathizers and the like will be allowed to post here? You violated posting guidlines 1 and 2. And if my smaller gay brain could figure out how to contact the moderator I would. -

Ran out of Walkill, So we picketed Patterson
by Junction-Guy inwell when thursday morning arrived and we were told the news that the brooklyn picketing had been cancelled, we were upset and disappointed, but we decided to go on with a plan "b".
amanda, evelyn, sybil, and i decided to ride up to walkill ny and visit the watchtower farms and also patterson.
we drove up to walkill first and i must say that the size of this complex was enormous, and reminded me so much of a prison complex, they even had their own water tower.

"No Apologies is no longer one of Jehovah's Witnesses"
by No Apologies insometimes i just don't know when to keep my big mouth shut.
today i think finally said enough to get da'd.. for those of you just tuning in, a recap: about 2-3 years i came to realize everything i had been taught as a jw was a load of steaming turds.
since then i have managed to fade away more or less, without incident.

I would have called the police to remove the man. He's a stranger in your house that you do not want there. 86 him! BTW: Totally funny comment Blondie! -

Boston to Los Angeles :-) Just me in my lil convertible Honda Del Sol and my music. So much fun. Lots of time to think. Did run up the cell phone bill a little too. It took 5 days as I didn't want to drive for over 8 hours a day. Stopped in Youngstown, OH (yuck) Maryville, IL (boring and ordered a nasty pizza) Oklahoma City (met some fun people there), Albuquerque (visited my ex), and Kingman, AZ (forgot that AZ is on Pacific time in the Summer and usually I drove 7-3:30 and the clerk at the hotel looked at me strange cause i showed up at 2:30)..... i could have made it all the way to LA that night but i already had a hotel reservation....

"I've decided to block your e-mail" (response from an almost-JW)
by AlmostAtheist inthere was a poster on jwd that left her email address in a post.
she was clearly a study, not yet baptized.
she was on jwd, so it sounded like she might be open to a maybe-they-don't-have-the-truth sort of discussion.. i emailed her my birthday write up with a note explaining that i didn't think the watchtower "lied" (as was mentioned in the jwd post she was responding to), but that they made disengenuous comments in order to keep people in the organization, sincerely believing that it was necessary for them to please god.. she responded, thanked me for the note, and said that she had stumbled onto jwd by accident, looking for an online copy of the km.

I used to blow them a kiss when they did that, with a wink for good measure. People that flip you off are counting on your horror or shock when they do it, it usually feeds into more bad energy. Well you can get a little back, cuz trust me, their jaw drops when you throw them a kiss!
I did that once about a week ago. For those of your who don't know, here in LA we have two lanes for getting on the freeway, one for carpools and one for single drivers. The single drivers have to stop at a light before getting on. So I get the green light and start to go when this guy decides to show up from the carpool lane as i'm now going about 40 and almost pushes me off the road. I beeped my horn as a way of saying "hey!" and they flipped me off. So I blew them a kiss cause I could see them looking at me in their rear view.
I recently had a guy from the phone company yell at me for being on the phone. It was ironic.

The real reason why young people get baptized
by free2beme inthe real reason why young people get baptized .... to make their parents happy and proud.
to be able to get married (which is some cases, is to get away from parents).
... okay, okay, i know it depends on how young we are talking.

I did at 15. All the kids my age were already baptised. So in order to keep my status in the social circle I also got baptised. And I did have some elders saying, "so and so is baptised, what's preventing you?"

I went to a party at this family's house that who we secretly nicknamed "the flanders". And we played bible trivia. Ugghh! And their two kids (6&8) both knew every answer. Straight out of the Simpson's.
