  gas and the pionere

  has anyone that is still going to borg meetings, heard anything about gas prices affecting dubbers who get nothing in return for their car,gas,time knocking on doors?

  They would never start a pioneer™ gas fund. In my congregations people never donated to the pioneers™ gas yet always insisted on using their cars. Why break a long standing tradition?

  They will find more efficient ways to use their resources wisely.

  1. Go out in service less.
  2. Leave the car at home and use someone else's. Lie to the brothers™ and say it doesn't work.
  3. Take longer breaks at Tim Hortons. The longer the break the less time you're out there driving.
  4. Delete deadbeat™ calls from your return visit book. Their lives are not worth the price of gas anyway.
  5. Better yet, accidentally lose your return visit book. Or say it was stolen when you were mugged one day in service™. Who knows, they may use your experience at a circuit assembly one day and you could achieve greater prominence in the congregation. That's what it's really all about anyway.

  Was it Kraft Dinner????

  No, it was a lot of leftovers, many things, but it was all good. As it turned out our visit must have been a blessing from Jehover. They were living in Sudbury but were about to leave to visit congregations in Northern Ontario. They needed to finish off their food because they were going to be gone for several weeks. So Jehover blessed them by sending 2 extra stomachs to help them out of their dilemma.

  Generally they came and helped to empty my refrigerator. I paid 'em back though. My ex and I once dropped in to visit a CO and his wife when we were in their town. We knocked on their door right at dinner time and managed to get ourselves invited in to eat.

  Watchtower Gives Up Explaining 607 BCE Date!

  this is a very important observation, that the watchtower has not tried to explain in print why 607 bce is the year for the destruction of jerusalem for the last 17 years!!!.

  all that the watchtower has done over most of the last two decades is to repeat over and over the year "607bce" in its publications as if it is an unquestioned fact!.

  the last time an explaination for the year was attempted by the watchtower was in 1988 when the "insight" volumes were published, but since then, no explaination for the validity of the year has appeared in print.. this must mean something, but what?

  Celebrated WT scholars have provided sufficient information to dispel any concerns raised by the Jonsson hypothesis in the book Gentile Times Reconsidered.

  1. What are the names of these WT "scholars"?
  2. What are their credentials?
  3. In what way have these alleged "scholars" been "celebrated".
  4. Isn't it inappropriate to give undue glory to these alleged "scholars" by "celebrating them"? Shouldn't all "glory" go to Jehover?
  5. Since the information was provided by "celebrated WT scholars" that must mean it did not come from Jehover himself.

  you know, i never thought that i could meet someone so much like me.

  but i did and right here at jwd, we only live a couple thousand miles from each other but i feel driven to relocate.

  not tomarrow or anything sudden but the thought of someone who you know deep inside is you're perfect match is so far away, what else is there to do ?.

  Not me, but my experience with relationships hasn't been that good. I would not relocate to be with someone, nor would I ever co-habit with anyone again. I've had enough of that to last me several lifetimes.

  i am not defending anybody but i wish people would stop attacking jwd members or other and jwc etc and attcak teh wtbts - it is crazy and we have to stop

  QUESTION ABOUT LITERATURE HAND OUTS AT HALL

  i would really appreciate help with this question.

  a friend said that he noticed that they are stingy about handing out literature (also tracts) at the literature counter.

  would only give out 4/5 tracts to a sister who has ms for her at home witnessing work.

  Yes, they used to ration out the tracts in my hall. Only pioneers™ could get more than 5 at a time. And we were told to avoid giving them out indiscriminately. They were valuable, and should be given only to "right-hearted ones".

  i spoke about 1/2 hour to shunned father on the phone last night, and he proclaims his innocence as regards to that beacon of truth post.

  he is very much appreciative of the offers of help he has received, so please everyone, dont back out on this historic event because of a post that seemed offensive.

  i will be disappointed if everyone were to pull out because of this.

  CURTAIL HURRICANE TALK AS IT'S NOT UPBUILDING

  another question for all of you.

  at local level elders encouraged members to not talk so much about the hurricanes and the hardships they have made for so many as this kind of talk is not upbuilding.

  people are only supposed to have enough knowledge about it so as to be able to lead into a presentation at the door.

  I could be wrong, but wasn't it stated in a thread recently that the WTS asked that people refrain from specifying on their donation cheques that the money should go for hurricane relief? That donations should go directly for the worldwide work? If that's the case I can see why they don't want members talking about it.
