i just got a pm from franklin j and he said to say "hi" to the forum, but he also said he had "the summer from hell".
i haven't asked permission to share the details, but he might appreciate the (((support))) from the forum.
(For those of you who are new, Franklin J is one of the forum's solid "guy's guy" who always offers balanced advice.)

is it just me or are more people using the word "absolutely" far more than needed?.
the other day i was at a store and the guy said "absolutely" several times in his pitch.
i've heard people use the word several times in recent television shows and this morning on the news i heard it three more times.. .

i have lived at my current address for approximately five years and i have not had any visits from the witnesses.
i don't really want any but here's the deal: i left "the truth" about fifteen years ago.
i wasn't disfellowshipped or anything and (since i moved to another state) it was a relatively clean break.
Some of the "FRIENDS" may not, but I know Jehovah and Jesus are interested in you.
I tend to gauge the level of someone's interest in me by the amount of effort they make to talk to me or associate with me. And no, a book that's written to billions is not indicative of personal interest.

what experiences do you have following, or not following it?.
every now and then, someone posts something that exposes their gut reaction to something, which could be completely opposite to a position previously taken, or taken immediately after posting it.
Sometimes I follow my gut, sometimes I don't. Unfortunately I often get screwed either way. Sometimes it's not possible to choose a course of action that doesn't have negative consequenses. When I decided to be a JW I had a terrible gut feeling that something was wrong about it. On the other side of the coin, considering the type of life I was living at the time I may not have survived to see my 30th birthday. There's no doubt a drastic change had to be made in my life, but in hindsight I can see how I could have done things much differently.
If my foresight were half as good as my hindsight I'd be doing quite well.

According to the Jan. 1 1989 Watchtower the preaching work was supposed to end in the twentieth century. By the time the bound volumes were released there was a flash of new light, so the bound volumes were changed. However, some JWs may not realize this, so they continue to count time while drinking coffee in Tim Hortons rather than knocking on doors.

subsequently, he put together a fantastic website, simply showing primary resource material (stuff jw's say about themselves and their beliefs) then simply highlighted various points of interest... things to make you say "hmmm!

would you marry someone more than 15 years older or younger than yourself?.
it seems to be somewhat common for men to marry women significantly younger than them selves, but when a woman marries a man much younger, it seems to generate a lot of attention.. what are your thoughts?
I don't see how age makes a difference. Many marriages fail whether the spouses are close in age or far apart. That being the case, always look for a young, HOT partner.

example: here at work, i will only use one stall in the bathroom.

I used to have this thing about sitting with my back to the door or window of a resteraunt.... I would always find a way to put my back to the wall so I could see who was coming at me.... it felt like I had been in the military or something but couldnt understand it until I did my 2nd past life regression and relived being shot to death by someone who snuck up on me from my left while I was looking right....
I've done that for most of my life. Still do.
But I'm not weird. Everyone else is.
