  Has anyone seen this Watchtower article before?

  hi, my first post here.

  i stumbled across something in the watchtower 1981 magazine (in my wbts library cd) showing the faithful and discreet slave is "a composite individual".

  i have never seen this anywhere before, but the wbts set-up of the fds as "a composite individual" looks somewhat similar to the trinity of three divine persons in one true god.

  I had never considered that that explanation is somewhat similar to the "Trinity."
  I think that it is an interesting viewpoint.

  Indeed, very interesting. JW's have no problem with any explanation so long as they are the ones coming up with it.

  i haven't seen any comments on this yet.... in the december 15, 2008 "study" version of the watchtower, in the last study article (the one to be covered march 1), paragraph 14 reads thusly in part:.

  "...one january evening, the man asked his wife, jodi, what she knew of jehovah's witnesses.

  she was a catholic, and she said that the only thing she linked to the witnesses to was "door-to-door preaching".

  I think the comments about them trying to be hip and the one that dubs will see this as a great provision are probably right. But it can backfire as curiousity may get the better of them.

  this is big news from the vatican.

  they now accept charles darwin's theory of evolution.. it still doesn't explain why there are monkeys living today - surely they would have evolved by now into humans?

  Actually this is fairly big. To disfellowship someone for fornication going on in their home, especially when they are not telling the parties to fornicate is unprecedented as far as I know. WT gets more controlling with each passing year.

  Funny you mention this. As a dub I never really thought about this. But NOBODY in any culture I have ever run into thinks its respectfull to call parents or grandparents by their first name. Ever. Funny that the JW's main argument for respecting God's name is so totally specious. To put this bluntly Rutherford was an ass, and not just about 1925!

  cos i need some help as i don't trust my it guy at all.. my email totally crashed on me today - i noticed the pee cee getting slower and slower and then it switched itself and restarted.

  i rebooted after that again...just in case.

  when i went into my mail everything that was in my inbox and subsequent folders opened under that had disappeared along with everything in my sent items.

  Some thoughts: First off I'm sorry for your loss. Second what is said here is accurate, particularly sacolton's comments. I have also found the following principle helpful. Backup, backup, backup. The more your data changes the more frequent the backups need to be. Also, some email accounts allow you to leave so much archived that if you tell Outlook Express to leave messages on the server, you may find you haven't lost anything. This works well for gmail and Yahoo. A company though will rarely allow this so if this was a work email you may have lost most of your stuff. But it may be worth checking. At my job until about a year ago people kept tons of stuff on the company server. If you need help on backup, I'm sure any of us "geeks" can give some good advice.

  has anyone watched "the magdalene sisters"?.

  at the beginning of the movie this guy is beating a drum at some party.

  the drummer happened to be a priest.. on the drum itself you can quite clearly see the following image, which is almost a copy of the image found in the greatest man book chapter 123.. .
