A Memorial Service will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Forest Grove Senior Center, 2037 Douglas St. in Forest Grove.
Is the Senior Center a kingdom Hall? It does seem unusual that an elder would give the sermon.....what would he say...." ah ...gee ...he was a good dub, but maybe we will see him after armagedon, in the new world" Would not want to be a JW elder in this position knowing what the JW teachings are.

.............ah yes....the good ol' days......."learning " how to be a good J.W. kid after spending 8 years as a "worldly" kid. Your story brought back many memories of my childhood. In 1958 my Mother sold her beautiful piano in order to attend the International Assemby in New York, it was ALL downhill from there.
Enjoyed 1st chapter.....keep them coming!

no one really has a conclusive answer to that.

by wanderlustguy infunny, the longer i go on, especially with the "new eyes", normal becomes fiction.
there is no real normal, but there is acceptable and unacceptable.
hurting others, that would be unacceptable.. next week i'll be going home, as in home where i grew up and learned the truth and learned what it means to judge, criticise, back stabb, lie, cheat, and cover over things when i'm too weak to face them for what they are.

.....you know, even if the 'borg needs fixin' as defd says & it has "continually" been fixed over the centuries & continues to be "fixed" in the "near" future & the "good dubs" make it thru the "great tribulation" to inherit Life Everlasting in a "paradise earth"....it will "only" be a thousand years & it will need "fixin'" again! This could go on "thru eternty", over & over& over& over.............. Of coarse only, my way of seeing it.

Update on me
by fullofdoubtnow inhi, i am with my friend dedpoet again, we've been out for an hour or so, and he has kindly allowed me to post again from his pc as i have no internet access at home.. i have been reading all your kind replies to my posts of a few days ago, thank you all so much.
afew things have happened to me in the last few days which i would like to share with you all.
i missed tuesday nights meeting, as i have been doing for all the meetings for the last few weeks, and at around 930 had a visit from the po and another elder.

I can remember as a "simple publisher" having only the green, hard cover version of the New World Translation looking @ the " God appointed servants" having those beautiful black, soft ( easy to flip rapidly((to show you know the bible)) to the scripture being qouted @ the meeting,assemby, field service((( when they still qouted from the bible era)))...etc) with gold lettering on the cover, some even personalized with their very own name on them, wondering if I would ever be so chosen to have such a beautiful tool to help people see the " truth"......nah it would never happen.
