Misanthrop, wow, I guess this is a little taste of a whiplash huh?
I have never been injured in a car wreck. I had a car wreck but was not injured.
Months and months of pain huh?
Wow.
I have to say, even now after only a night and morning I am feeling a bit better.
Still this hard to swallow feeling is strange. But it makes sense if your whole neck is tender, your throat mechanism could be affected.
I have no medical insurance right now and have no doctor.
My HMO is Home Medical Only.
I almost bought last weekend at a yard sale a Home Remedy Book, but it wasnt well written I thought. There must be others better written I'd like.
I used to work with a woman who knew all sorts of effective poultices she learned from her American Indian mother. She talked of soaking cloths in mustard and cayenne etc.
I wish I had knowledge of that stuff.
One thing I did learn from her is that red cayenne pepper stops bleeding.
Once when I cut myself in the kitchen real good I grabbed the bottle of cayenne pepper and generously poured it on the wound. It was spurting blood, but then all of a sudden the bleeding stopped!!
Epsom salt baths are comforting. Gargling with salt is supposed to heal an infected throat.
My father used to take us to the ocean and make us kids bathe in the ocean to heal some contagious leg sores we picked up at school...empatigo I think it was called...it worked!
Just today on t.v. they emphasized how important it is to wash our hands to prevent the flu.

Thanks all for the suggestions. I have just returned from spending another hour in bed with a hot water bottle under my neck. That really helped. I'm sure it is just muscle strain and I will recover as I did last time.

Believe me Crumpet, he is paying.....BIG TIME!!!!
He actually cried last night as he realized he did this to me.
He had to help me turn this way and that last night. He had to dress me for bed.
This morning he had to fluff and plump all my pillows and fill my hot water bottle.
Before he left for work he built a fire to keep me warm and promised to pick up stuff from the store and be home early to care for me.
He offered to rub my neck, but I politely declined.
Actually this happened once before to me.
Years ago I went to a massage training school for a discount massage......BIG MISTAKE!
A student while giving the head and shoulders massage offered to give me something she just learned. She pulled my head just like hubby did. The next day I had a whopper neck ache!
HER I WANTED TO SUE AND PUNCH HER LIGHTS OUT!!!!
But naturally she was practically a penniless exhooker trying to learn a useful trade.
I did report her to the school and hoped she would be cautioned and instructed in the right way to handle a client's neck. -

Welcome Riverview! Could you please send us some pictures of your lovely country at this time of year? My surroundings are bleak and dry at the end of a long hot summer! Could use a refreshing photo!

How can you hate the person who came to your aid when you needed some direction and answers?
I just wish my own parents or aunts or teachers were as interested in me as she was.
Joining the WBTS was not the worst thing in the world.
Any of us could have fallen prey to any number of very terrible and worse situations.
Lots of time is wasted in life. Lots of setbacks occur in the ultimately successful life.

Is Jehovah really gods name?
by dezpbem inin another thread i started someone askedi still believe in jehovah, but now, i'm having doubts about his name???
is jehovah really god's name?
if he wanted his name to be known, he's all-powerful, omnipotent... i know that he has the power to make sure that his name is used correctly.

sorry, I'm kind of hooked on the name. Since my dfing I have needed to pray twice. Both times I used Jehovah's name. I would have felt odd praying to anyone else.

women are from venus
by stillajwexelder inhas anybody read the book "women are from venus, men are from mars?
" and if so what did you think of it.
was it/is it accurate?

Yes, I think alot of what he observes is true and when men and women are thoughtful of each other's differences and needs, then living together goes so much smoother and happier for both.
