There are several people I know who just will not face the facts that have been presented to them. They don't want to know the truth about the "truth".

I know of some who are here reading the information from this web site and they just cannot believe what they are finding out.

Others refuse to even look at anything if they know it has come from the internet. Including the notes that can be found here.

There are people in the organization who just don't want to face the real facts about the WTS. It would devaste them.

I think it is best that some do not find out the truth about the "truth".

Some people need to have something to look forward to in order to get through their day.

WT June 1, 2001

the wt june 1, 2001 issue contains the article "if god is for us who will be against us?".

in this article the wt talks about identifying the marks of those having god's backing.

in paragraph 6 it quotes jesus words found in mathew 7:15,16 where he says that "be on the watch for false prophets that come to you in sheep's covering, but inside they are ravenous wolves.

Sat. Dist. Conv.--Cracking the whip!

i have put in my final day at this year's test of posterior endurance---saturday at the district convention, 2001. i took quite a few notes today, because some had specifically asked about saturday's program.

i hope all will be suitably edified by them.

do not just listen to bits and pieces of the program, but to the whole thing.

Thank you for sharing your notes with us.

My wife attended the assembly on Saturday and seemed to be in a bad mood when she got home.

I thought it was because she was just tired. I see she was also beat to death.

I agree with what esther said

I am so thankful that I won't be going to any more conventions. I feel for those who have to go. It is bad enough when you think it is the truth, but it is worse when you know it is all a lie.

here are a few notes i took at the friday session of the 2001 "teachers of god's word" district convention.

i thought i would share these upbuilding theocratic point with my new friends, along with my thoughts as i was listening to the program.

1st instruction of the day: sing loudly and listen to the prayer!

Yes, I believe that there are some within the Organization who are members not particularly because they are
interested in truth, but for social and other reasons. That does not dissuade me though. There are many like many of us
who left because of their love for truth and righteousness. (and many who had to leave because of their Conscience besides)
I believe that no matter what, all Jehovah's Witnesses have the right to learn the truth about the past dates and teachings
of the WTS, and the double standards that the GB have had for so many years. They all need to read Ray Franz's books to
learn the real truth about what has happened in the past, as well as what is going on now. They deserve to know "the facts". ( and to learn that Ray Franz has been lied about and mistreated for many years and the lies are still going on today.
And the lies that all those who leave the WTS leave God, Jesus, and the Bible. etc. )

I want to thank you very much for your post. The things that you have told us are very loving. We do deserve to know "the facts". It think it is a terrible thing that the WTS wants so much to keep this information away from its members.

those NOT raised in the truth

i was married with 2 small children (an adult) when someone came to my door.

i can't figure out how i ever got invoved !!!

i can completely see how one can be easily brainwashed being a child and raised as a witness, but i'm angry at myself more than the organization that i was so easily duped... i feel i lost 9 years of my life and missed out on so much for being stupid.

I have had the same feelings you have.
I agree with what Neyank said.

Plus the fact that we had no way of checking the WTS out.
Computers weren't available to everyone when I became involved with them. I don't think there was much written info. on the WTS either.
So I think it was much easier for the WTS to recrute new members from all walks of life up until a few years ago. Now we have the computer as well as books written by people that were involved with the WTS first hand.

I found this in the Awake 5/22/69,pg15,

If you are a young person, you also need to face the fact that you will never grow old in this present system of things. .....all evidence in fulfillment of Bible prophecy indicates that this corrupt system is due to end in a few years. ....as a young person you will never fulfill any career that this system offers. If you are in high school and thinking about a college education, it means at least four, perhaps even six or eight more years to graduate into a specialized career. But where will this system of things be by that time? It will be well on the way toward its finish, if not actually gone!

What is an apostate?

the meaning of 'apostasy' given in my dictionary is "abandonment of religious faith, vows, principles or party".

i used to think that only cults considered leaving their religion to be apostasy, but according to my dictionary, as quoted above,everyone who changes their religion is technically an apostate.

so were those of us who changed from other religions to become jws apostates then?
