  The Watchtower Attendance Crisis

  if the average congregation has about 83 publishers in the us, then the organization may be sinking into a crisis.. take that 83 and consider that half the congregations may have less.. take away '15 minute publishers' who don't attend.

  take away completely fake publishers who rarely attend.

  take away increasingly tired publishers who 'feel sick', are depressed, or just want to stay at home and watch tv.. .

  many years after i was df'd, i found myself at the end of a shunning campaign led by a robotic jw neighbour.. the neighbour had moved in next door to me.

  he'd even borrowed some tools of mine before he discovered that i was an ex.

  at this point he began a serious "i'm ignoring you" strategy which i found utterly hilarious as he was the one who had chosen to move in next door to me.

  Who Was The Very First Poster That You Met In Real Life?

  the first poster that i ever met was philo.. we'd traded a few stories via the site and i realised that we knew some of the same people down in portsmouth.. he was very cagey as to his real identity, but eventually we shared emails and he told me all about himself.

  one day, i took hl down to portsmouth to see my daughter who lives there.

  i'd mentioned it in a post, that i was going in that direction.

  Speaking about social security.....

  I thought I would run a check to see if any of the Governing body had applied for it. What I found is quite interesting. Notice that Lloyd Barry did not apply for his until 1975.

  let's see if i can explain this a little better.

  i actually went to meeting two weeks ago (husband is an inactive dub, and we went to oblige his family while we were home visiting on a school break) -- the brother giving the talk is brand new to the area.

  he is from tennesse, although i'm not sure where.

  I was at the District convention at the Pontiac Silver Dome in Michigan in June of 2000 when one of the speakers made the comment,"If you are happy with your life the way it is now, stay off the internet"

  My wife was there but she says she can't remember hearing that.

  Is there anyone on this board who was there that year? It is hard for me to believe that I was the only one who heard that statement.

  My wife told a "friend" of hers what I said and her "friend" said she is happy with her life the way it is.
