Are you living your life fully knowing that you will one day die?
by JH inas jw's it was out of the question to die.
the end was too close for that to happen, unless you had a bad accident or sickness.
most of us believed that we wouldn't die, and on top of that we were about to become young again.. since we will all die, do you make it a priority in your life right now to live it fully, and to love fully the ones you care for because every day you skip, its lost and won't come back..

Maybe it is a US vs. Canada thing. I also recall the annual corporation meeting. A brother would "suggest" another brother for treasurer, etc. then someone would second the motion then all in favor would raise their hand.
A very intimidating way to hold a corporation meeting and "elect" officials, but who asked me.

Anyone in, or know much about military service
by devinsmom inthis question is in relation to my situation w/ my ex husband.

short answer... Yes
Now you need to go back to court and request that the child support be taken directly out of his pay. The military takes child support/family issues VERY seriously. You could talk to his recruiter also to let him know the situation. Him joining the marine my be a blessing in disguise for you. Now you'll get the child support.

The world the JW's detest...
by TD inhow many times have jw depictions of paradise shown cozy little gabled, shingled, lapsided, wood frame houses tastefully situated in front of mountain lakes without a hint of technology?
i've lost count.
i've always thought this picture betrays an unbelievable naivete about how technology works.

nuh huh. Didn't you see the PBS series Wilderness man. He made his own house in the wilds of Canada with nothing but his bare hands.
Ok he had a few tools...

Do you ever talk to yourself aloud?

I do it so much that at work people won't answer unless I repeat a question directed at them several times. They think I am just talking to myself again. I don't try to hide it. It helps me consentrate and think clearer.

When I was about 7 or 8 years old, the CO was visiting our cong. Several wives were supposed to make a dinner for the CO and his wife for the week. My mom was one of them. The prepared dinners were supposed to be brought to the hall on Tuesday night.
As we were driving to the hall, my mom announced that she forgot their meal in the fridge at home. We get to the hall and the first thing I do is go up to the CO and tell him my mom forgot his supper. I'll never forget the beating I got that night...

Did God ever grant what you asked for in prayer?
by JH ini was an active witness, and i didn't feel as if god granted anything i asked for in prayers.
i didn't ask anything out of the ordinary.
since the witnesses say that they are god's followers and that he blesses them, i wonder in what way he blesses individuals when they pray?.
