  the purpose of life: is to procreate.. the meaining of life: is up to each of us to define for ourselves, individually.. i've just turned 48. i have not procreated.

  i am struggling to define the meaning of or in my life.. is it just me?

  I was there. For years. It (Rick) shot itself in the foot. With an automatic weapon. Many times.

  No thanks. Once one puts the lights out, they cannot shine again. H20 had its shining moments in the limelight and Rick should appreciate that former glory. H20 was the Mecca for serious researchers, wackos and dub apologists. I will not forget those great memories. What I consider to be my best articles were posted there. (And then lost in cyberspace when it went defunct).

  Joseph Malik has captured that essense and may still have the keys to access that board and capture the great things it did in its day.

  Farkel, don't get your boxers all twisted up between your nethers. This new H20 site has nothing to do with Rick.

  It's just an attempt to provide a place for those who prefer a more sane place than what has become of the H20 you and the other great xjw-gods have exited.

  Hey! Maybe you could try somethin' new by just going there and actually taking a look for yourself rather than making snap judgements.

  Also, it's time to stop resting on your laurels cause most here don't remember. Have any new stuff for us?

  on may 28, 2002, the u.s. television news program, dateline, publicized to millions of viewers the facts about watchtower's deceitful child abuse policies which protect pedophiles who target and molest jws' vulnerable children.

  subsequently, this subject caught the interest of media throughout the world who, through careful investigation, substantiated the allegations made on dateline.

  Barbara,

  I know tens of thousands have left the Watchtower organization because they investigated the allegations made on Dateline and other TV programs, and were convinced all claims were true.

  I would like to believe that Barbara. Do you have any definitive proof of this?

  What hit me when I first left was the realization that I no longer considered ordinary people standing in the supermarket checkout line as somehow different than me or my JW friends but rather only as peers trying to struggle with the same issues and strifes I had. On the one hand a very humbling experience but on the other a rude awakening to the mind control I suffered in the Org.

  i'd say out of 10 elders, the average "sharp" ones are 2 or 3.

  Most of the elders I knew were just regular guys trying to support their families and do their JW jobs. Not too different from the men in my neighborhood or my daughter's school....some smart, some average and some just plain no good.

  for me anyways.. i still have nightmares about demon attacks.

  that was the one belief that really had a grip on me growing up.

  i was terrified of demons and even thought i was being attacked one night for bringing home a toy with a pagan symbol (ying-yang) on it.

  The Watchtower teaches fear of demons. Ironically, it's the very human and fleshly men in the Watchtower hierarchy that are the cause of the pain and trouble in the Society more than any demons!

  Terrible dreams are very common, don't let it get you down. The advice to seek some professional help is a good one and may calm your anxiety. Also, sometimes prayer can help.

  there was a post in the past that listed ray franz as the "king of the apostates" to flip the script who would you nominate as the reigning "queen of the apostates"?

  my nominee would go to joan cetnar.

  but to be honest joan is such a nice person that i had the pleasure of meeting at a ex-jws convention.

  Could the JW's be in "survival mode"?

  i notice that they don't preach much door to door anymore.

  i'm not the only one who notices this around here.. i was just wondering if they reached a point where they can't bring anyone to the org.

  anymore, so all that counts for them is to keep going to their meetings and wait for armageddon.

  I think many of the publishers are definitely in a survival mode! Practically holding their breath, hoping against hope the Watchtower will get it right soon cause their young are spiritually dying.

  Do you think that the WTS is going to "collapse" and there will be no JW's?

  do you think that there will come a time when the wts will be a thing of the past and people will look into their history books and say "oh yeah those jw's were around for over 120 years and now they are no longer around today in the year 20___?

  " my friend thinks that jw's will not collapse and will probably get "stronger" with time.

  i hope not because i am just sick of the whole wts and jw's religion.

  Could we have stumbled onto the reason behind the higher education thing ?

  in the mid 1990s the wtbts backed-off just a little bit on its stance about higher education publically while it was still discouraged unofficially.

  now, all of a sudden they are publically clamping back down.

  and coincidentally they are clamping back down just as ben schroeder was entering his final year or years at columbia law school.

  I think the Watchtower's turn around on higher education is just another in their long list of ridiculous turn arounds which are, of course, due to their extreme cluelessness and lack of simple common sense! They don't know what they're doing or how to do it so they end up giving everything a try!

  They're like a man on a sinking boat too busy plugging up the holes to notice that his rudder is broken and the waves are driving him towards the rocks. Oh well...the Governing Body deserves what they get.
