Jerome,
this very thing happened to me, my daughter was born at 31 weeks of pregnancy, she was only 3 pounds, she was in intensive care trying to save her life, we were told by the doctors she needed a blood transfusion to live, we rang the local elders and told them what was going on, i was a mess as i was only 19 and this was my first child, we basically got told that there was no alternatives to blood for premature infants and that we should leave matters in jehovahs hands, i can tell you this was a very hard time for me, on one hand i wanted not to displease jehovah and on the other i didnt want my daughter to die, but we told the doctors that we wouldnt accept blood and the reasons why, they didnt make it very easy for us they kept hounding us, i remember inside thinking to myself that based on my research on this matter i knew that if the doctors felt she needed it to live they would just go ahead and give it to her( they are laws in my country) and i was thinking please dont let my daughter die, please give her blood, and boy did i feel guilty for thinking that, to cut a long story short, they gave her 20 mls of blood which would have done nothing other than to prove they had almighty power, just a side point here though, i was very very upset with the local congregation, knowing what we were going through not a single witness or even elder from the congregation came along to the hospital to give us support.

UN vs Watchtower Society
by joelbear inthe watchtower has pronounced the un as being the disgusting thing because it is trying to bring about world peace instead of putting its faith in jehovah to do that.. the watchtower claims to be jehovah's tool and itself attempts to unite the peoples of the world into a united organization going so far as to monitor and punish the behavior of individuals around the world.. how are the watchtower's actions different from the united nations actions?.

SAVE ROE NOW!!!
by Valentine indear friends of reproductive freedom,.
george w bush and his right-wings friends are quietly pursuing their domestic agenda while the nations attention is focused on international terrorism.. bush's attacks on women's reproductive freedom continue.. examples;.
1. on his first day in the oval office, bush re-instated the global gag rule, which takes family planning funds from organizations that even mention the option of abortion to their patients, risking womens lives overseas.. 2. bush has promised to re-visit the food and drug administration's approval of ru-486.and anti-abortion forces in congress have already introduced a bill to limit it's availability.. 3. with the expected retirement of 3 supreme court justices ,including sandra day o'connor, who is often the critical swing vote on abortion rights issue, bush has made it clear that he will nominate the most adamant opponents of abortion and civil rights.. the bush administration is committed to strategies that limit life saving stem cell research, criminalize abortion providers, reduce the availability of birth control and deny funding of health reproduction education in the schools.. what better way to take on the christian coalition and ultra-right leaders and movements, than to use your voice to speak up now!!.

i have been out 18 months now and after 35 years i had my first xmas lunch with my dad, i was so excited, and i also gave my daughter her first birthday cake as she turned 16, i think that as a jw we missed out on so many things all in the name of the interpretation of the wtbts of gods word.

Just a thought
by chezza inhas anyone given any thought to the fact that jw's are supposed to be a loving organization and yet they are probably the biggest gossipers around, time and time again there were talks given on not gossiping and how the tongue such a little member can cause huge bush fires, i personally know of many that were stumbled away because of gossip that was untrue, any thoughts on this guys.

Ah yes i forgot there was good gossip and bad gossip, the elders were only trying to help after all, yeah right, i reckon they got a big kick out hearing all the juicy stuff at their elders meetings.
