  i'm a jehovah's witness who's doubts about god have been kinda forced to front by some adulterous acts on my part.

  i don't really feel the the jw's are dangerous presently, at least not any more than any other religion.

  i do feel the urge to free myself from it and my marriage within the week.

  Hi Maxwell,
  I too left the org and my marriage the same way, i went out with a bang shall we say, i confessed my indiscretion to my husband first and then to the elders, leaving was the best thing i did for me anyway, and now i have the most wonderful man in my life i feel so many years were wasted, brave desicion you have made and i wish you all the happiness you can find.

  Hey beck sweety, thinking of you as always, i know the feelings of deep dispair all to well, i even attempted my own suicide but failed, it is so hard to describe why we feel that way, for me it was a feeling of being trapped in a life i didnt want and all the expectations on me, you dont think of anything else at the time except wanting your pain to be over, i survived and now i am so happy in my life that it doesnt even come into my head anymore. Once again James and i are here for you whenever you need us, all you have to do is call.Love ya.

  I did not attend the memorial for the second year in a row, last year because i felt hypocritical to go and this year coz i woke to the lies i had been taught most of my life.

  and if you read some snarls in between those words, you don't know the half of it.. my wife asked me to go to the memorial last night, and i decided to go if for no other reason than to keep tabs on what's going on.

  those who know my story know that my situation is unusual.. just before we left she came to me privately and said that she had something to tell me before i heard it from anyone else.

  she knows exactly how i feel about the society, and was scared as to my reaction, and i don't blame her: there's hell to pay.. jeff strebe committed suicide the night before.

  Downloading Movies Anyone?

  i've started downloading a few.

  in the gb we don't get to see the latest stuff until the us is finished.

  but getting the flics of the net seems cool.. i have downloaded a few like..jimmy neutron..monsters inc...and er...ice age (coughs nervously).. isp

  REINSTATED AND STILL SHUNNED!

  i was at a wedding last summer were i met an old friend.

  he had been reinstated for 6 months, he was dfed for 4 years.. he had been an elder for 10 years before that, he had commited adultery with another "brothers" wife.

  i asked him how it was going.

  i have heard this comment from a few jw's in the past, "i became a jehovah's witness because you'll never find anything better.

  let's propose that (for a second :)) they are the closest thing to the "true religion".

  didn't the bible say something like don't listen to any false profits not "find the false profit that is the closest to the truth and follow him/her"?

  Great point their dutchie, its a whole support system, they are seperated so much from the outside world that if they were to leave it would be a huge culture shock.

  Just having my 2 cents here, what i dont get is how they can shun someone for something they did that was so horrible they needed to be kicked out and then welcome them back just coz the elders tell them they can now, i dont get it at all.

  hey, i owe yk a hearty thank-you.. you know those essays you posted about the financial system crashing?

  well, went to one of the sites cited, and found out gold was priced at the cost of production (about 6 months ago around $260 / oz).

  invested in a south african gold mining company several months ago.. i've made a hefty profit so far (gold is now over $300 / oz), and i just cashed a chunk of it in.
