a couple of years ago, the red cross had several blood donation trailers set up at a festival .
since i had time to kill, i donated.
it seems like there is always a critical blood supply shortage hard to deal with?
Yes, I would. Absolutely.

i believe the wt has flip-flopped on the if the rank & file are 'ministers' or not.
what is current?
husband called himself a 'minister' awhile back.
From the WT 11/15/00 article 'Who are God's Ministers Today?'

Hence, in the churches of Christendom, the privilege of being a minister has been severely restricted. Yet, this is not the case among Jehovah’s Witnesses. Why not? Because it was not that way in the first-century Christian congregation.Who
Really Are God’s Ministers?5
According to the Bible, all Jehovah’s worshipers—heavenly and earthly—are ministers. Angels ministered to Jesus. (Matthew 4:11; 26:53; Luke 22:43)"There may be something more current, but my WT Library is from 2001. I believe all are still considered ministers, though.

she was a guest by remote from las vegas, on larry king last night.
she was so emotional, and crying that she could hardly speak.
but, she said some powerful things.
Celine Dion has always impressed me as a genuinely kind and loving person... Doesn't surprise me that she has donated $1 million, or that she's downplaying it.
I hope her money, and the money of everyone else who has donated, is put to good use to help those in need.

Thinking of you and your family.

From the preliminary investigation, they determined that both children were only wearing part of the seat belt. Either the lap belt or the shoulder harness!
My kids used to do this all the time. The shoulder harness was bothering them because it would cross their body too high and be at neck level, so they would want to put it behind their back. They were not allowed to do that, and I spent hours listening to them complaining..... Now that they're older and bigger, it's no longer a problem.
Austin and the rest of your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

you forgive her for never not once setting foot in your house.. you forgive her for yelling at you almost every day, because if she hadnt yelled at you, if she had been one of those calm-voiced, even-tempered kind of moms, the kind who wasnt enraged by a child who bumped the vacuum into the furniture or one who didnt always scrub out the sink with zud after washing the dishes, then you wouldnt, years later, have been able to recognize the shock and pain in your own daughters eyes when you lose your temper and lash out stupidly, momentarily, always apologetically (after the fact), but never, it seems, for the last time (unfortunately) and without the memory of a childhood filled with longing for an inch of approval from the one person who refused to give it, then you might not have recognized that same desire and need for acknowledgement in your own child and you might not give it to her at every opportunity (as you do, as she deserves).. you forgive her for waiting five days to take you to the doctor when you broke your wrist, because those five days of pain, during which you were encouraged to just stop babying it, will lead to the first of only two apologies she will ever extend to you.
she just couldnt imagine how anyone could break a bone the way you described it happening.
you seek a small measure of revenge by waiting 20 years to tell her how you really broke it.. you forgive her for slapping you when you laughed at her during one of her screaming fits.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

i was at work yesterday when i got a call on my mobile phone.
my mothers ringer is darth vader's march.
the pit of my stomach ached.
I would also urge you to be cautious.
My sister was df'd about 18 years ago. My JW mother has had contact only when it suits her needs. Each time she turned on the 'love', my sister fell for it, loved her back, confided in her, and each time, my mother would have a change of heart and decide that she was being 'disloyal to Jehovah's organization', and shun her completely again. This continued until my sister, against her better judgement, invited my mother to her wedding a couple years ago. My mother turned on the love full blast, gathered any and all info she could, and then ran to the elders with it, creating huge problems for the JWs in my family. After that, my sister has cut off all contact, effectively DFing my mother. My mother does not even know that my sister had a baby, her grandson, a few months ago. My sister says she will never subject her child to that kind of conditional love, ever.
It's a tough thing when family emotions are involved. Make sure you know where the line goes for you personally, and be sure that your mother understands it, too. You may be able to avoid the on-again, off-again love that way.
I truly hope that all goes well for you and your mom!!!!

civil rights no longer exist in southeast la.
the water is rising and they don't know where it's coming from.
everyone is to get out as they say they cannot sustain life in the area.. .

We have decided that we have lost everything. We'll see once we get there.
If you're on the second floor, and if it's not flooded up there, then maybe Marshall Law is a good thing.... it will keep looters from taking whatever is left. No matter how you slice it, though, this is such a difficult situation. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
