do you think that there will come a time when the wts will be a thing of the past and people will look into their history books and say "oh yeah those jw's were around for over 120 years and now they are no longer around today in the year 20___?

i hope not because i am just sick of the whole wts and jw's religion.
It might take a while but I think this will eventually happen. I believe that in our day more and more people are waking up to the problems associated with religion in general, everything is subject to scrutiny, including the book the major religions are based on, the Bible. Once people stop believing that this book is the inerrant word of God, the JW's like all the others will lose their foothold, people will no longer listen to their preaching and eventually they will die out or get sued for all their worth. (dreaming is free!)

i want to put this in the right frame, as what is happening in iraq is not about dying for our countries.
so this is what i mean by this question.. if a foreign government were to suddenly invade your country.
would you be willing to join the arm forces to fight for your country, knowing full well that you may die having never been able to reap the benefits of any possible victory?
I don't trust politics so no I would not fight for the country, but if my life or my families life was threatened I wouldn't think twice about shooting someone!!

this weeks study mag, march 15th has on page 26 an article re.
the new members, anthony morris and geoffrey w jackson .
both are men believed to be in their fifties who joined bethel in 2002 or 2006. they both came from the the "nethanim class" of helpers to the gb .. * w92 4/15 p. 31 announcement ***therefore it has been decided to invite several helpers, mainly from among the great crowd, to share in the meetings of each of the governing body committees, that is, the personnel, publishing, service, teaching, and writing committees.
One thing that I read on another thread a few weeks ago(can't remember where it is) is that although for a long time the R&F have been fed the BS that the anointed were sealed back in 1935.......in the recent book "Worship the Only True God" from 2002, it says the following on page 179 paragraph 10:
"First, there was the gathering of the remnant of those anointed by God's spirit, who have the hope of being with Christ as part of the heavenly kingdom. Though such ones were scattered among the nations, they were brought into organizational unity. The completion of the sealing of these anointed ones draws near."
Huh? And I bet none of the R&F caught this, they slid it right under everyones noses!!!

ok... i remember ( or at least what i recall..lol) how god had always dealt with people in the bible...kinda like there was 'proof' of him for all those thousands of years...right?
....well how come nothing in the last nearly two thousand years?
if there was a god how come he let the bible get distorted and let all these religions start?
Legolas, I used to ask myself that same question when I was a "bs believer", now I believe God never interacted with humans, it was just some power hungry priests that made the sh*t up to keep the people under control, and everyone was too ignorant to question it, and those that did were accused of witchcraft or going against God and were killed. The interesting thing is that these ideas have survived for so long, but I feel that it won't be long now before many realize what games that old book has played with our minds!! But the age of enlightenment is here, much to the chagrin of organized religion!!!

when my husband and i left the org back in sept. i felt that i had to tell my closest girl friend the reasons why we are no longer going to meetings.
we sat down with her while her husband was out of town and told her many things we had discovered.
so was so disturbed by this she couldnt wait for her husband to get home and share the "new light" with him.
Congratulations Mrs. Congeniality , you've saved 8 people from giving up their life and joy to an old idiot led cult. I can proudly say that my husband and I have released 17 people from their clutches, this includes our kids and some df'd family members that were planning on returning, yes indeed the truth about "the truth" has set them free!!!!

i have not been on this board in a while for various reasons.
the main reason being that my best friend died on march 11th, and things have been different since that day.
i don't have words to describe how the void feels, so i won't even attempt.

The fear of death being the final end is something that I struggled with also, it's a very frightening feeling coming from a JW background, we were so certain about where we were going after death, and we thought the WTS had all the answers, only to later realize we are back at square one after our eyes are opened. I like you, began researching Near Death Experiences and Reincarnation, and what I found has brought us much peace and happiness. I recommend you read "Old Souls" by Tom Shroder it's an amazing book. I know that ultimately we will only know when we die, but there's no reason why we shouldn't read the compelling evidence that is available to us now, if this will bring us peace.

just thought i'd share this because i'm amazed at how many people know and love this movie but have missed the significance of it's beautiful metaphor.. dorothy, scarecrow, tinman, lion represent everyone of us with or thoughts of being incomplete, imperfect and needing something outside of ourselves for fulfillment.

I loved that movie! Onesong, that's an interesting take on it. I can relate, we have always had everything we need inside ourselves, we just looked to some Borganization to tell us what to do, and what to think. But we have now seen who is behind the curtain, and it's not Jehovah, or the Creator, just some old men who are trying desperately to hold on to a sinking ship !
And no, there is no place like home, home is in the here and now, not in some long held illusion of a coming JW Paradise, as many of us now know, that's only an ad campaign slogan, meant to bring the new ones, and hold on to the old and tired out ones, but it's not very effective any longer, the illusion is slowly fading away as more and more realize that this earth isn't such a bad place, and life in these times is actually pretty damn good, as opposed to the dark ages for example. Although I am aware that for some life is very difficult and sad, hopefully things will get better for them also.
