She finally passed away
by LovesDubs inmy brother called me yesterday from california and told me his dear wife had finally passed away at 9:40 pst.
she fought long and hard and didnt go easily into the night.
if god wanted her home she wasnt going to go without a fight!

by BFD ina few weeks ago i started a thread explaining that i wanted to read the entire bible for the first time.
i had been reading the kjv and i read revelation, john i, ii, ii and then i read john, matthew, mark, luke using the kjv in that order at someone's suggestion here.
i further took the suggestion of the poster and purchased an niv bible.

Oh my god I hurt my dog!
by restrangled ini realize with all the human hurt going on here that this may seem insignificant...... but right now its not for me.
i purchased a large dog nail cutter today and was able to clip 38 nails (two large dogs) with no problem.. suddenly the last two nails i clipped started spurting blood as if i had cut their throats.. not a whimper from the dog, but i feel terrible for causing pain, and the trust he has given me.
i dipped the paw into something to disinfect, wrapped it tightly with gauze, and fed him a pill to lower his blood pressure and make him nap.. he still looks at me with adoring eyes........ i feel so bad......anyone else experience this?.

res*, I'm so sorry. If he didn't make any noise, it likely didn't hurt much (mine yelp if I even get too close to the quick), but I know how awful it is to see them bleeding. Next time you're in the petstore, look for styptic powder, gel or swabs. Those clot the bleeding. I hate clipping my pups' nails. I know some people use a nail grinder (like a sanding wheel on a Dremel) to sand down the nail, especially on dark colored nails. It's been said that the wheel moves so fast that, if it cuts the quick, it automatically cauterizes it. Drs Foster and Smith, online, has those types of tools. ****** Kudos for taking such good care of your furbaby!

I don't think they use all of the ashes. This is the only company I know of that does this: www.lifegem.com
There's a company that makes ashes into concrete forms that get dropped into the ocean to become new parts of coral reefs.
I also heard of a company that would incorporate your ashes into fireworks and you'd have a lightshow for your memorial - that's how I'd want to go out!

Anyway when I am 64 I doubt I'll even be able to find my hips!

I got my first last year. It's on the inside of my forearm and it felt like my arm was being sliced open with every pass. That said, I love my ink and I'm getting at least two more some time soon. I want to get them fairly close together so I don't have to go too long before I can donate blood again.
BTW - I just turned 30.
