Terry, I think you handled the situation very well. I avoid those kind of people like the plaugue, but then I don't have your knowledge and ability to deal with them.

Mr. P.O will it blow or not?
by skyman inhow fanatic was your po i bet not as fanatic as mine.
one night there was a fire in a petrolium storage facility one block from the kingdom hall the police had baricades up and vacated the area around the hall.
the po called and told all us that jehovah would not let the place blow up while meeting was going on so meeting was still going to be held and he asked all of us brothers to call and inform the congregation that jehovah will protect us and to tell the congregation about an article of a hurricane that destroyed a town but jumped over the kingdom hall.

I lived in Olympia, Wash for many years. Perhaps once a year the streets would be very icy and the authorities would advise staying off the roads. The elders would actually cancel the meeting when this happened. I guess they figured jah'd protect those in the KH, but not those on their way. It was always such a treat when this happened.

What a Prat!
by ozziepost inthis evening mrs ozzie and i went to our favorite local restaurant - it's out in the outer suburbs, a lovely small thai restaurant - well, any food eaten with chopsticks is okay with us!.
anyway, we entered and there at a middle table sat a family of three - father, mother and daughter.
nothing unusual about that except, well it was the badge card that caught my eye.

Here in Mexico there are hardly any Chinese restaurants, let alone Thai restaurants. Come to think of it I'm not fond of Thai food, except for the peanut sauce. Did you have peanut sauce?

I haven't walked out of a movie in a very long time...
by Elsewhere in... but today i went to see deuce bigalow: european gigolo and i have to say it was the most stupid thing i have seen in a very long time.
it was so painfully bad that i actually walked out on it.
it was a never ending series of "penis" jokes and "gay" jokes and other really really stupid gags... like the girl bigalow meets in obsessive compulsive and has 130 stupid things she does.

As dubs we were supposed to walk out of movies that were immoral. I could never do that. I guess because I'm so wordly.

Have you become the 'Pagan' that you thought you would?
by AK - Jeff ini mean - when we were witnesses we always thought that is what one who 'leaves jehovah' does - goes right out and becomes evil incarnate.
or do you live a life similar to what you did as a witness?
on a scale of 1-10, how wicked would you be considered if the witnesses were making the call on your current lifestyle ?

What Belief or Teaching Do You Think The Watchtower Will Next Abandon?
by minimus indo you believe the society will just stay on automatic pilot or do you think some "new lite" is in store for witnesses?

I think that in order to simplify they'll cut out singing at church.

Singing out. . .
by John Doe inwere there any folks in your congregation that had really big voices, no pitch, and a tone-deaf ear?
we had a whole family of them.
i recall one night the wife was particularly off key--even going on past when the music stopped, getting off on the wrong line, etc.

Yes, there is a difference. Sure wish I could sing though. In about 1999 I took voice lessons for a year. They tell me I improved, but the teacher said I needed to relax my throat and I couldn't get the hang of that.

Seriously, do you think it will affect the good ole Society?
Of course not, they just tell the dubs to be faithful.
The local dubs will just pile as many people as possible into one car.
