  What if...

  have those of you who, like myself, have been cut off by family because of the troof thought what you'd do if a family member asked for your help?

  at this point it seems like it would be easy just to tell them to get help from jehovah, but i suppose if one of them truly needed help i might feel differently.

  looking back it seems hysterical that during the watchtower and bookstudy one had to be careful not to answer the b part until after the conductor asked the question.

  just another example of how structured everything is in that cult.

  "let everything take place by arrangement" to the nth degree.

  I graduated from college today

  at the age of 53 i graduated from arizona state university with a bachelor's in spanish.

  when everyone stood for the national athem i felt a little guilty at first, but i soon got over it!

  recurring dream

  i decided to share this recurring dream in hopes i won't have it any more.

  in this dream i still live with my mother and i've told her and everyone else very plainly that i don't believe jw's have the truth and that i don't want anything to do with it.

  however, going to the meetings and going from door to door are such habits that i continue to do them anyway.

  shunners in hospital

  what noidea is going thru got me to thinking what i'd do if one of my family members who shuns me, that's most of them, were really sick and in the hospital.

  several years ago my daughter was really sick and in the hospital.

  i didn't go see her and i've often wondered whether i did the right thing.

  reminds me of giving talks in the ms only the subject matter is a lot more interesting.

  Don't shun if money is involved

  i was disfellowshipped ten years ago.

  in this time a cousin who is a jdub hasn't said boo to me.

  then a couple of weeks ago i get a call from him about a legal matter.

  i remember in about 1980 there was a big flak in the olympia wa area about whether "faithful witnesses" with health problems would survive armegeddon.

  many understood, and the elders agreed, that if someone needed insulin, for example, during the great trib and couldn t get it there would be no miraculous intervention.

  this person would die from lack of medical attention and be resurrected later.

  i wouldn't be a member of any organized religion, nor would i be a member any unorganized releigion, but i am a member of the "freedom from religion foundation.".
