I have attended meetings at too many halls to remember and of all of them only 1 had windows. I have heard that they don't have windows due to insurance reasons. I have attended meetings in Switzerland, France and Ecuador as well and none of those had windows either. I think it is a borganization thing.

I was outside today while my son and his cousin were playing. They were talking, you know, little kid stuff, toys etc. Then I overheard the cousin ask my son if he goes to the meetings. My son said no and then the cousin comes to me and asks if we went to the meetings. I said no. Then he got this horrified look on his face and said then you don't love Jehovah. I said, yes we do love Jehovah. Then he said, well you have to go to the meetings to learn about Jehovah and show you love him. So, I asked him what he knew about Jehovah. He said, well, he is strong. I then asked him who is Jehovah's son. He said, I don't know.
What is truly amazing is that at such a young age they start the judging process based on little or no knowledge at all.
I knew that it was just a matter of time before I would need to stop having my son associate with this part of the family. I just didn't realize that it would happen so soon.
Also, the look of confussion on my sons face during this questioning was saddening as well. I would hate to have him start questioning our, my husband and mine, decisions so soon.
Can anyone offer suggestions on how I should handle this? They are just little kids. But I can't help but worry that they will try to convince my son that we are wrong and that he should be going to that God forsaken place.

Baptismal date, do you remember?
by Jourles inyesterday was my 15th year anniversary of being baptized.
may 11, 1991. i'm not sure it counts anymore since i was df'd last feb. 3, 2005, but still, it is a remarkable period of time to pass by and reflect on what changes have occurred.. i was 18 years old.
the "internet" was barely a blip.

I was baptised on June 14, 1986. Twenty years ago this year. I just knew that I had to do it soon because if I didn't I wouldn't make it into the kingdom.
My brother and I were dunked at the exact same time. My mom wants me to say that they now won't even let husbands and wives be baptised together and she says that is just an example of how creepy that religion is.
I think rather than my parents baptismal date the more important date is May 1, 2006. They were both disfellowshipped for apostacy because they knew about the UN/NGO thing.
I can't wait to have my new date.

I have owned it now for two months and have yet the stomach to watch it. I have heard people say that they love it and others hated it. There was a book on it that I looked at that was rather graphic. Hope you enjoy it, please comment on your opinion once you watch it.

Dear EyesOpened,
Welcome. A lot of us here are third, fourth and even fifth generation JW's. I myself am a fourth generation JW and have only left recently, 8 months ago. I wish I could tell you all of the answers but unfortunately I am still trying to figure things out. Just know that now that you are out you will finally begin to heal. Cults have a way a brainwashing you and making the break away very difficult. I am sorry for your confussion and hurt and wish you the best on your new journey.

Taking the Veil off Jehovah's Witnesses
by uninformed ini would like to start a discussion topic (probably has already been one) on who or how to approach friends and others that are jehovah's witnesses and possible arguments that well get them to examine their belief system.. i have tried without much success, but even though i previously thought these people were "thinking christians" i found that not to be the case.. .
here would be an example: "i try to approach jw's with an unbelieving mate that is having marital problems.".
in all my years at the wt, i was kind of proud that people would call me a "good speaker", or a "fine teacher".

Your oldest and closest friends have really said they wouldn't take the brochure?
I remember that when I was a witness there was no arguing with me. I thought that I was right and that either the person was apostate or spiritually weak. You know, the standard replies of a witness.
The only way to get into their mind, i think, is to find where they have issues with the organization. ie, oral sex, birthdays, anniversary celebrations, lack of love in the congo, or doctinal things that they have decided were incorrect and their view is correct.
The biggest obstacle is to get over the "Wait on Jehovah". Even if they have questions they are continuelly told to do this. If something is not correct, then Jehovah will change it. You know the drill.
I think that was my biggest obstacle. I knew things were wrong but I was going to wait on Jehovah. Took 4 to 5 years to finally break away from that thinking.
Unfortunately, the only person you can change is yourself.

Lucky you! You're an Orchid, you love the outdoors and are an honest, spirited person. You're passionate about what you do, and have a great soul. But slow down in your own little world and might want to hear what other people have to say..

This article touches on it. It seems that a person with this fear needs to build their self confidence. It is called autophobia.
Don't know anything else about it but thought this address might get a start.

Anything like that during pregnancy scares the wit out of you.
I never have been able to interpret ultra sounds. When they told me my baby was a boy, I couldn't see it. Everyone else did, I just couldn't figure it out. Glad you see it and are expecting a beautiful healthy ?girl?
Happy you are better.

"Arguing on the Internet is like running in the Special Olympics; even if you win, you're still retarded."
Danielp,
That was funny. I am still giggling. Thank you for the laugh.
