I have met quit a few from the Texas area but I am hoping to make it to the July fest and meet Little Toe. He always has something interesting to say and then of course there will be the accent. (Don't tell my husband I just said that. haha) Also, Uncle Bruce and Auld Soul. And Es seems like a really sweet person. Actually, it would be fun to meet everyone. Maybe someday.

I got a chance to see it in theater twice in London. Once from the nose bleed section in '98, and once from 2nd row in '01. I have 5 tickets for my kids and roommate and I in first balcony next month here in the US and 2 from higher up for next month also! Trying to get a friend to go with me for the 2nd set.
I love the play but I found the book to be very difficult. The initial part with M. Welcome was very enjoyable but there was so much information on characters that only played a minor part in the book. I enjoyed the twists but the endless volumes of information was difficult for me to get through.
Congrats on getting to see the play again. Our area doesn't get that much theater activity, though, I wish it did.

For Intensity:
Still Life of Crows - Preston & Child
Cabinet of Curiosity - Preston & Child
Brimstone - Preston & Child (This one wasn't as intense but had some really interesting research on the Stratovarius violins)
Dance of Death - Preston & Child
Digital Fortress - Dan Brown
Dean Koontz is also good for intensity. Though I would recommend his audio books for long trips. The stories really keep you awake.
Starting to read:
Dante's Inferno
A Novel Ireland - Frank Delaney
And Kathleen Woodweiss is a decent romance novelist. But I only read that when I am really looking for something that I can put down.
One of my favorite books is Benjamin Blake. Sea adventure
And I agree with a previous poster, all of Jane Austen's works are very enjoyable.
Hardest book I have ever read is Les Miserables - Victor Hugo - took me an entire year to finish that book.
I really enjoy Dickens works as well. Oliver Twist is among my favorites.
And I love Silas Marner by George Eliot.
Louis L'amors Bendigo Shafter is a nice read as well.
Also, Underworld by Neil Gaiman. Everyone that we passed this book to loved it.
I could go on forever, I love to read.

Getting df'd for telling others about the WTS and the UN fiasco
by proandcon innot too long ago in a local congregation in massachusetts, two people were df'd for telling others about the wts involvement with the un...anyone else hear of this happenning in your area?
i guess teling othere the truth about the wts is not allowed either.
the lack of honesty and humility in this group never ceases to amaze me.

My parents were both dfed for their stand on the UN/Watchtower fiasco. May 1st, 2006. They weren't even telling people about it. The elders just wouldn't leave them alone.
Now my parents are planning on having the local newspaper print articles about the whole thing.

Does your personal vehicle reflect your personality?
by Gregor inthere is a clever volkswagen tv ad currently running in the u s that depicts various types of people driving cars that reflect their personality, like older males driving sleek sports cars to compensate for their "shortcomings" or a younger man driving an expensive european sedan as he pronounces with a bullhorn "because my father never hugged me!
or another who says "because i make more money than you!
have any of you ever gotten your self image tangled up with a vehicle?
-
Lo-ru-hamah
I don't think my car reflects me. And if I had the cars that I really wanted it would definately show me as a schizophrenic. I would drive and old Toyota Land Cruiser 1965-1980 and an Aston Martin Vanquish.

Having Surgery - I'm scared!
by liquidsky ini am having surgery next friday and i am scared to death!!!!
i am having a lump removed from both breasts and a biopsy done at the same time.
finding out the results of the biopsy is what is stressing me out the most.

Liquidsky,
Sorry to hear of your distress.
I have had a couple of surgeries neither of which were fun but the recovery was pretty quick. It really isn't bad. You don't even know what is going on and then you wake up and they have pain medication until you feel better.
Though, I haven't had anything to do with looking for cancer. Your anxiety must be somewhat difficult to deal with. I have known alot of women who have had lumps in their breasts and they were told that it was just cysts and that is what they were.
I hope that everything turns out well. And the bright side is that while you recover you will be waited on hand and foot and will enjoy some relaxation time. Maybe you could get a couple of good books read.
Best wishes.

Would you give your body for life saving organs and experimentscience and ?
by Spectrum ini have a problem with this.
-
Lo-ru-hamah
I have thought about this quite a bit (every time I renew my drivers license) and I am still unsure. I wouldn't mind donating my organs . The problem I have though is that you donate them and then the doctors still charge people goo goo loads of money. There are thousands of people that donate their organs and because someone who needs it cannot afford it someone else get them. That bothers me quite a bit. I would like to stipulate that if they get my organs for free they should give them for free. And maybe the organs or given for free but they charge so much for the surgeries that many cannot afford them.
Oh well just rambling and probably not making much sense.
