  Do you still believe?

  i have found a lot of people no longer believe in god or jesus since leaving the organization.. im very shocked at this.

  if you dont believe, can you tell me what brought to that conclusion?.

  i was told to look at the thread that one of the members in this forum has created, they are very interesting, but i wanted to get a some feed back from different individuals.. thanks!

  There are times that I find it somewhat difficult to believe that God and Jesus are still allowing all the bad to continue. It causes some doubts but my desire to want to believe in something bigger than myself is overwhelming. So, I cannot walk away from Jehovah, YHWH, or any other name you want to give Him, or Jesus. That said, my opinion of why JW's turn athiest and don't want to believe any longer in God is because the organization has monopolized God and Jesus so much that they, the organization and God and Jesus, are one. So, when witnesses become aware of the lies and hypocracy that exist in their "beloved" organization and they leave, they then have to leave Jehovah and Jesus because they are all one in the same. I feel that some continue to believe in God and Christ because they have been able to seperate the organization from them and realize that they, the organization, Jehovah and Jesus, are not the same thing. And they can begin to heal their anger at God and Jesus once they realize that the organization is just another tool of Satan to try and take glory away from its rightful source.

  Just my opinion, nothing more.

  What were you disfellowshipped for?

  just curious,if anyone dosent mind sharing..myself,id been out in the real world for 11 years,married twice,etc etc,and the 'trio of guys in bad suits' came over one night and told me that i was being charged w/adultery and fornication..my then boyfriend,and i laughed so hard that we forgot to sic the dog on 'em...funny,cause one of the guys id lived with,a few years prior,an elders son,not baptized,but in good standing,never got even so much as a stern talking to..i remember one of the last meetings i went to as a teenager.the 'trio" came to my parents house and said that i wasnt to come to meetings braless anymore,that it was disturbing the brothers and making them have impure thoughts..and that by me being in a band,in the 'world',i was opening myself to satan...what a bunch of weirdos.especialy since one of my "fondest" memories is of being out in feield service,alone w/an elder,and him having his pants open in the car,and his penis sticking out the whole time.i was like 10,and wasnt sure exactly what the issue was,guess i was a bit naive,but he kept touching it and looking at me..this was a big cheese elder at the time too..very highly thought of and all..again,what a bunch of wierdos....

  I'm not df'd or da'd as yet. Though, I and my husband have been shunned numerous times. The gossip is that we are apostates. Amazing how it is okay to warn people about apostates but the child molesters can hang around for years without anyone being able to say a word about it.

  i was discussing with my auntie how in the 70's transplants were not allowed, and then in the 80's they were, and asked that since people died by not having a transplant what evidence this had of gods direction.

  he answer enlightened me.

  she said "transplants were dangerous in the 70's and so god was protecting his people from them.

  If you were newly inactive, did you feel pressure to attend the Memorial?

  i'd be interested in hearing your experiences, if you were newly inactive and felt pressured to go to the memorial.

  did the jw's pressure you to go or did you feel guilty for missing the lord's evening meal (well, we all miss it anyway when we pass it round)

  This is our first year of being inactive. My family, brother, sister, father, mother, nephew, husband and son, are all planning on having the memorial with each other. We want to read scriptures about Jesus' life and then pass the emblems. Though, the difference for this year will be that we plan to partake. Upon reading the scriptures, we have come to the conclusion that the new convenant applies to everyone who wants to benefit from Jesus' sacrafice. We will see how it goes. It will be nice to actually talk about Jesus on this occasion, instead of having to hear how special the F&DS are.

  having been fairly proud of my jw parent's behaviour (and to be honest, my handling of them) in the 13 years or so since i walked away i now find myself in a quandry.

  i basically arranged my departure from the cult in such a manner that i would neither be da'd or df'd, to avoid a situation where their family loyalty might be streached by their adherence to organsiational law.

  why should i play by their rules and write a letter leaving an imaginary religion?

  My father was an elder for over thirty years and I called him and asked what he would have done in this situation. He quoted a scripture for me, 1 Thes. 4:11 - "and make it your aim to live quietly and to mind your own business and work with your hands, just as we ordered you"

  He said that it is private family business and the elders have no need to interfere.

  Hope that might help you some.

  Lo' and Behold - I start hearing Kingdom Melodies in the coffee shop.....

  i was peacefully reading an old copy of stephen cox' article "can the truth survive the internet", and all of a sudden i realize that the instrumental music playing is the d*mn kingdom melodies.

  it was actually pretty good.

  it was that instrumental cd released sometime back with a lot of harp, piano, and woodwinds in it.

  Sometimes I find myself humming some of the km's and try to think of some other religious songs. Only to find that the only one that I kind of know is Amazing Grace and one from the movie "Oh Brother Where Art Thou". All of my life I have been taught that the other gospel songs are so bad although they are beautiful melodies and now I don't know any of them. Guess I have some learning to do.

  i've been receiving messages from brother and sisters asking why i'm deleting my account.

  i really did not write my reasons for deleting my account because i don't want anyone to feel obligated to do the same.

  fact of the matter is that, i still feel that myspace may very well be a conscious matter.

  as a devout jehovah's witness, mrs. merle is prohibited from celebrating her birthday.

  but a week from tomorrow, relatives and friends will flock to the camoset village country living mobile home park in johnstown to attend a super bowl party that just happens to feature ice cream and cake.. "that's why we're calling it a super bowl party," explained her son bob merle, 73, who lives just five trailers down the road.

  "we don't celebrate birthdays, but we have to celebrate 100 years," said mrs. mechem, 78.

  Hope it didn't bother you too bad. My parents were listening on the phone when I looked at it and they laughed at my reaction for a good 10 minutes. It was a great laugh.
