i remember knowing that we could have a "large gathering" in the circuit before the new circuit overseer came on the scene and this was during the beginning of the "no large gatherings" edict.

when the co had his meeting with the elders in the circuit, he chastised more than a few and even made an example ot of one somewhat "prominent" elder by demoting his duties in the circuit to send a message not to play around and try to get away with things because "mothr" is always watching......anything that you got away with?

I never really got away with anything but I do know elders that would fluff the service reports to make it look like they didn't have any inactive publishers in the hall. In fact, one elder had to call two regular pioneers that hadn't turned in their time for six months.

Your post makes me think of the movie Braveheart. There at the end when Gibsons entrails are being torn out and everyone starts crying mercy for him and then he yells "FREEDOM".

That is what it feels like to finally leave the KH and the torture that they heap upon you your entire life.

I was not a Bethelite but I did have breakfast and lunch there once. I can't say that it was anything memorable. In fact, I don't even remember what we ate. So, I guess it wasn't that good or that bad. There was a member of the gb sitting at the table he was rather unfriendly. Don't even remember which one it was.

Guess I'm not much help. I'll ask my brother, he was there for four years.

What kind of house would you like to have?

i would like to have a very big and very nice hot whirlpool tub inside the house.

I want a cottage with a thatched roof on about 5000 acres. I would love to have a large kitchen and a harth room off of it with a cobblestone fireplace. I would love flowers galore and a stream running close to the cottage.

Or the house off of Legends of the Fall would be nice.

Dreaming

hi all, well this is an odd one, but lately, my wife and i and our youngest son have been having dreams that we are at the meetings, but when we are there, it doesn't feel right, we know that we dont want/or shouldn't be there.

people are fussing over us, but all we want to do is get out of there.

other times, we are giving talks and so forth.

Sometimes I have weird dreams and have looked through books to try to understand what dreams mean. Then when I get into the books it gets into stuff that is somewhat uncomfortable.

I think that sometimes they mean your greatest fears.

Anger!!!!

yesterday, when i was driving through holland, michigan, i was a little lost looking for the human resources office.

i was heading down a busy divided four lane street unfamiliar, when i looked up and there it was, a kingdom hall in all it's radiant three day quick-build glory.

and for the first time, rather than just the usual cringe, i felt angry!.

I know what you mean. I see red every time I pass a Kingdom Hall. And I know that this is bad but I throw trash in their yard whenever I can. Though, that is probably aggression that is more harmful to me and my family.

Is Jehovah trying to stumble us?

if you think about it, he obviously knows we are imperfect.

he knows that there are tons of religions to choose from.

now if we are imperfect, and choose to be catholic cause we believe it to be the right religion, we die?

True, but............. ; How would he allow the devil to move right on into his organization, and allow him to ;"trick" ;the wts into joining the UN?

As my little brother puts it "they are just imperfect men who make mistakes. It is still the truth and Jehovah is still blessing them. They just made a mistake.".

My reply, If they are imperfect men and they make mistakes, then why do they expect us to follow them without question.

And Jehovah, I hope, is not trying to stumble us. We, humanity, have made this more difficult than it should be. It isn't about a RELIGION, IMHO, it is about spirituality and trying to live our lives as decent human beings. When Jehovah and Jesus decide to act, then they will sort out the rest. If the scriptures are accurate then all judgements will be made with Love, Justice, Wisdom and Power.
