When "friends" let you down...

have you ever been in a position where you really needed your friends - ie a relationship break down, or some other event and expected your friends to rally and support you.

only to find that those friends are nowhere to be seen or heard and when you tentatively enquire how they are in the hope for some kind response you get - "oh well you'll get over it.

" or words to that effect and by email.. i have as you can guess a reason and recent experience of my own that i'll share later, but i wondered how do you handle that?

I don't have any friends. Only family & they are alway there when I need them.

"why did you follow after these men who started a religion with teaching based on Egyptian Pyramids."

JW’s will answer:

I didn’t know they taught things based upon the pyramids, besides we have the truth & why are you judging me Jesus? I was supposed to be judged by "JEHOVAH"!

Let's Give AudeSapere a Great Big Hug

as many of you know, audesapere (denise) had reconstructive knee surgery last wednesday.

the surgery ended up being quite a bit more involved then she originally anticipated.

she has approximately 5 more weeks walking with crutches and then i believe she will continue with physical therapy.. denise made it through the first several days post-op like a trooper!

Brooklyn Bethel to be sold. Has anyone else heard this?

i'll bet it's already been posted and i missed it but if not, i just heard that brooklyn hq is to be sold over concerns for safety following the 9/11 attacks.

the news has come to me through an incredibly loyal jw sister.

i know her, she wouldn't repeat anything like this if she hadn't heard it from the kingdom hall or a circuit overseer.. anything to this?.

i've completed a lengthy conversation with my father about the bible and jws and said to him:.

jws place a lot of emphasis when studying and preaching with others on one main thing about what the bible is mainly about; that is the devil and those who practise his works and how to avoid him and them and for everlasting life on earth.. i asked my father, who is the biggest enemy of god and jesus?

i'll respond to them in time but can't at the moment.

i wanted to just check in and let you know that i'm doing relatively ok. the confrontation with my parents was a bit sticky.

he commanded some 15,000 children to flog his new book "children".

My Bethel Experience Part 14

my strange bethel courtship started with me trying to meet mike stillman's sister, even though he worked in the ink room next to my elevavator, we were not good friends, he was just a little to "country" for me........and on the righeous side too.

they say "there is nothing more dangerious in combat then a new guy with a map!

".........and there was nothing more dangerious at bethel then a self righteous new boy.. anyway one beautiful saturday morning, in 1972, we were walking to the factory, mike happen to be walking with me, and he happen to say "god........i would give anything to get out of this city on a day like today"..........i said "well....... i have a car and no place to go.........you have a place to go and no car"...he wasn't quite sure of me, but.............next thing i knew, it's him and me and 4 of his nerdy friends driving to rhode island.. needless to say, it was a great weekend and debbie who had just turned 19 was happy that her brother finally brought someone home with him, who wasn't a nerd like his other friends.

So one day in the 1980's Bob call us and wanted to come up for a visit, to see us and his grand kids (my children)..........I said "come on up Bob, we would love to see you!"..........Debbie grabed the phone out of my hand and tolded him "he wasn't welcome NOW and that he couldn't come anymore for visits".......................

She was just following the rules. It's a shame.
