There are several decent JWs that I miss seeing (by their choice, not mine). I do not miss any of their talks. -

The love bombing is a strong force. Resist the dark side. The more the miss, the better you'll feel. -

Model Jw family?
by MrTheocratic ini would like to get the opinion of those on this community.
does serving as an elder make one a bad family man.
with all the demands placed on those serving... how can one make time for family life?

I can guarantee you that our "model family" ... elder father, pioneer mother ... was completely phony. Maybe they are not all that way, but mine definitely was.
In order to be an elder, I think you have to be willing to sell a piece of your soul. Becoming an elder changes a person. When they announced at the Kingdom Hall that they appointed my brother in law an elder, everybody else clapped and congratulated him, and I sat there and cried. I really liked him.

Any here who didn't rebel as a teenager and were a goody two shoes instead?
by purrpurr inwhen i was a teenager in the borg i was a dyed in the wool, goody two shoes, squeaky clean,"spiritual " sister.
alot of my peers around me were rebelling and going off the rails but not me.
i was constantly praised for this and even felt a little smug about it ha!.

Yep! Completely a goody two shoes until I was 16. I even regular pioneered for a year when I was 14. I was the youngest one in my pioneer school.
The shit hit the fan at home with my abusive father when I was 16. My mom FINALLY decided she was strong enough to escape from his abuse, and the elders decided to protect him, rather than us. That's when I saw them for who they were and never wanted to be a part of them again.

You would think it would be a wake up call to her when she looked around and realized she was the only one.
I would have gone to the bathroom to "put on my swimsuit" and slipped out the backdoor!

When I was watching it and they said that the JW daughter basically shunned her mother for the three years before her death for marrying that creep ... I wondered if she regretted shunning her. That's the thing about shunning. You never know when will the be the last time you see somebody. -

Here's another one she posted. I am pretty she'll be out as soon as she grows up! LOL!

My JW family has entire Pinterest boards devoted to JW memes. Most of them make me feel ill when I read them, but some of them are pretty accurate and funny. Here is one my niece posted.

Things I Never Knew When I Was A Witness!
by disillusioned 2 inthere are some things that as a witness i never knew.
maybe i was just going through the motions, attending meetings and not listening much.
never was very good at personal study or underlining answers in watchtower or book study (i never ever answered up) was too shy.. i never knew when i was a witness that they taught that jesus had looked down on the earth in 1919 to see who was serving god most accurately, and of course he chose a small group of bible students living in america!

Then you were lazy. I was/am fond of studying and found out all those things quickly.
Judgmental much? I know a religious group that you would fit in very well with.
