"my husbands religious beliefs are ruining our family" is the topic.
i"m not home when it airs on cbs in the afternoon so i watch a rerun on ch 55 here in nyc at 8pm.
i have my cable box all set to switch over at the appropriate time..
Totally agree: the elders in this instance did the right thing.
steve2,
They absolutely did the right thing. But the husband is obviously a fringe witness, at best. What I have observed in the organization is that the elders seem more willing to do the right thing if the person in question is "spiritually weak" versus someone who holds a position of authority. I have seen first hand where a body of elders will protect an abuser (seemingly) because he is a fellow elder, but when a fringer is accused, they all of a sudden grow a conscience.
When they said that the elders reported him to CPS, I thought, "Of course they did! Because you're a nobody in the congregation." That guy kind of gave me the creeps. There is something off about him. I am glad they reported him, but they are the exception, rather than the rule, and I wish the show had pointed it out.

Dear Morpheus,
I don't respond to anyone that resorts to name calling. If you would like try to again and have an adult and civil dialogue, I would be happy to debate it with you.

They just said that the ELDERS called child protective services on him because they suspected abuse. I can't believe my ears! If he had a position of authority, such as being an elder, would they have still reported him so quickly?
when they send their team of jw lawyers from bethel to various locations to argue the lawsuits against them, do they put them up in a hotel or do they make them stay with witness families?.
In-house lawyers rarely appear in Court, to argue a case, in any organisation. They normally engage external lawyers (ie law firms, counsel, barristers) for that role. Watchtower probably does the same.
Watchtower is not other corporations, though, and they will do anything to save a buck. And since they struggling financially, I was wondering if they have doing any cost saving measures in their legal department.

Here is a snapshot from the outline provided by the society:

Did the outline from the society specifically have the phrase "and lives on campus"? I don't think it did. It seems like this might something added in the delivery by the local brothers.
back again!.
so as i'm still pimo and living under my parent's roof, how can i get out of service?
cause i really don't want to go and i feel dirty just knowing i could be influencing someone into this garbage..
Asthma attacks always worked pretty well for me.
Oh, wait. Those were panic attacks.
i have been sadly watching as the number of jws in other countries are decreasing (for the most part), while the numbers in the us are strangely increasing.
while i question the organization's self reporting numbers, i think 2018 may be the year for another mass us exodus.
leah remini's show will be focusing on jws in her show on a&e.

Leah Remini's show will be focusing on JWs in her show on A&E. If they would somehow coincide the airing of those episodes with the release of the film Apostasy and the release of the film The Truth About the Truth, I think JWs would finally get the media attention they deserve here in the US, and the JWs still sticking their heads in the sand will finally have to give it some attention. Maybe it will provoke enough attention and curiosity to get some American JWs googling, and we will another mass exodus here in the US.
I will the above is just wishful thinking, but wouldn't it be great?
