Haulin to the "right" Hall
by Virgogirl inif you had more than one kh in your town, were you assigned to one or another by the elders?
we had two congregations, t.c.
to keep the attendance even, we were handed a list of names assigned to attend one or the other when we grew too large and split.

Squeezing blood from turnips and little old ladies
by Virgogirl indoes anyone know how much pressure is currently being put on the elderly brothers and sisters to name the witchtower babble and trick society prominently in their wills?
since older ones account for a big chunk of the membership, this could increase their coffers if they convince our parents and grandparents not to be "greedy" and to sign it all over to the worldwide work.
i have heard firsthand of elderly widowed sisters having elders appointed as executors of their estate, to handle will administration and personal affairs for them, along with an attorney-brother giving legal advice as needed.

Did your parents find you dates?
by Virgogirl inwhe i hit 19, i was living at home and working, secretly saving up for a tiny apartment so i could fade.
i was showing no interest in finding a "suitable marriage mate" in the truth.
suddenly, there started appearing at our sunday meetings eligible young brothers from out of town, and they seemed to be meeting up with my parents stranger still, they had been invited back to our house afterwards for lunch!

Well that explains it! Wierd guy at work
by Virgogirl inwe have a very strange guy at work, d. he's in his 40's, lifelong bachelor and wears his pants pulled up real high.
he's a perfectionist for following all the company rules to a t and promply snitches and tattles on everyone he drives a huge 4door car that seems a bit out of place for a single guy.
he is usually sour and scolds people he passes.this morning, i walked up on a conversation he started with a female employee.

Am I a lost cause?
by Virgogirl ini've been faded for many years now.
my parents are very active and often mention missing my phone calls because the meeting ran late or they went to dinner afterwards with the "friends.
" yet, they never try to coax me back, or in any way plead wwith me to return before it's too late.

Truth Book from 1974
by Virgogirl indoes anyone remember "the truth that leads to everlasting life" book?
it was blue, and was intended as a six month home study book.

Haunted Hall
by Virgogirl inwas it just me, or did anyone else experience unsettling, wierd vibes inside a kingdom hall?
it used to creep me out, it felt almost eerie and spooky inside.
sometimes we opened the doors on saturday afternoon to clean, and it was all dark and sinister inside when we entered, and it almost felt like something was in there, not good vibes, either.

Skirting the issue
by Virgogirl inwhat argument is put forth that women must only wear dresses or skirts to the meetings or in service and are not permitted to wear slacks?
where does it say it's wrong for sisters to wear pants, and how are they convincing women in 2005 to buy into this?
i remember many bitterly cold chicago mornings with frozen legs running to doors and back to the warm car as quickly as possible, wearing a skirt which was ridiculous and inappropriate to the weather conditions.
