What is the reasoning behind this?
by damselfly inwhy do jw women have to wear a headcovering at certain times?.
are you considered inactive if you attend meetings but don't go out in field service?.
as you can probably tell i never really paid attention at the meetings (generally day dreamed them away)so i don't know what the answers are to these questions.

By definition, if you are a witness then you must do just that, witness to others. When I was reinstated and went out in service, sisters saying the prayer would have to cover their heads, I felt bad for them as they would have a paper towel on their head.

A friend of mine just called and told me that Mirrormask is playing in a theatre right around the corner from him. Even though this friend lives an hour away from me, I am going to see it either sunday or monday. Can't wait.

1984? My crazy elder step-dad said the same thing, I think it had something to do with Eve being created and some other random thing like the society changing their font or something.

Pollution, the earth will die in 10-12 years.
by void ini have been reading wt quotes etc, but i have not seen this issue raised.
i dont have a big box of awakes to search through, but i distinctly remember the cover of an awake with a picture of the globe and factories producing smog.
well the mag was about pollution; the core message/prophecy was that the world will mot be survivable in 10 -12 years so we can expect god to step in the next few years.

Anybody ever see the documentary that came out in the 70's, The Late Great Planet Earth. I saw it when it came out and for laughs I bought the dvd. When it came out a lot of witnesses were using that as a "see? this system can't last much longer."

people to share my blown away realization i experienced after i quit going to the meetings and went against my mother!
it feels great to see people who have gone through and felt the same as i and who have taken the steps to change their life.

"Make the truth your own". That made me laugh. I tried as much as possible to do that and always wondered what was wrong with me as I wasn't able to get myself to be a robot. Later I realized that what that means is that they want you to take it to an unhealthy obsessive compulsive extreme level.

and most of them never go to the elders about it.
recent case in point: my dear friend got married this past summer.

First off, DO NOT get married for the sake of being married. It would be much easier to just leave then to go through all the trouble of getting married to use as an excuse. If you can move away from the area, that would be a good start.

SHOULD I PIONEER OR COLLEGE?

i am 21 and i remember just 4 years ago going to college was looked at as something negative.
girls my age, we had plans to be ft pioneers and become secretaries.

Had to sign up for this one. For me it was never even an option for me at all to go to college. Never once was it brought up since they can't teach you in schools what you need to know in the new system and it all would have been irrelevant anyways because the world was supposed to have ended over 20 years ago. I even used it as an excuse to drop out of high school. I did start going to the local community college some years ago and over the years have got 2(almost 4) associates degrees. There is just a bit of resentment when I think back at the things that I wanted to do but was completely discouraged from doing. So to quote Joseph Campbell, "follow your bliss".
