i spoke about 1/2 hour to shunned father on the phone last night, and he proclaims his innocence as regards to that beacon of truth post.
he is very much appreciative of the offers of help he has received, so please everyone, dont back out on this historic event because of a post that seemed offensive.
i will be disappointed if everyone were to pull out because of this.

another question for all of you.
at local level elders encouraged members to not talk so much about the hurricanes and the hardships they have made for so many as this kind of talk is not upbuilding.
people are only supposed to have enough knowledge about it so as to be able to lead into a presentation at the door.
Maybe they are afraid that someone will ask what JWs are doing to help the victims... could raise some questions...

He's actually in college for computer technology. He's always loved to draw... I've always done artwork on artwork on the side, and he hung out with me....but hasn't had much formal training other than that.... pretty much self taught. I hadn't seen any of his work in a while... he's in Florida going to school, and I'm in MA... Visited him last week...and I was blown away by how far he has come...

i decided to start a new thread on this topicokay, yall.
rita is packin' 170 mph winds with gusts, but has taken a slightly eastward turn, so we'll be on the west side of the eye, which means we won't be getting the worst of it.
but now they're calling for mandatory evacuation of beaumont and jefferson county, where crabby pants is, and they're gonna be getting the worst side of it there, along with bunches of tornadoes.
((((Frannie))))) My thoughts & prayers are with you....

my journey to find a religion i could believe in wholeheartedly started as a young adult.
i was raised as a catholic but couldn't say for certain that i believed all that i was taught..
i had a mother who was a catholic and a father who was a divorced protestant.
Welcome! You'll find a lot of people here who understand what you're feeling.

anyways if anyone has posted a link to this story before i apologize for the duplicate but i hadn't seen this and it made me laugh beyond anything, previously when seeing the information on this story my first guess was it has to be a witness.
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,169193,00.htmllong after their mortal forms left this earth, the ghosts of dead prostitutes may be dragged into a florida court.. the owners of church street station (search), an entertainment complex in downtown orlando, are suing a sushi restaurant that broke its lease after claiming its space was haunted.. "it's very serious," lynn franklin, attorney for christopher and yoko chung, owners of amura japanese restaurant (search), told the associated press.
"a lot of people are corroborating having seen incidents in this location.".
I've been there...long ago when it was Phieas Fogg's (sp?) Never saw any ghosts... It is part of what once was a railroad station (Church Street Station) complex, and is in an older section of Orlando...so who knows... It was very run down, and investors sunk millions in it to make it into an entertainment complex that would attract people to downtown Orlando when they came to Disney. That was back in the 80s... I lived in that area for over 20 years... and just got back from visiting my kids there.....
