The worrying thing is, they put every single mishap in their life down to demons, they don't like to consider the possibility that perhaps they fucked up somewhere along the line.

To what extent do JW believe in Ghosts/demons/wicked spirits
by gaybeat ini'm pretty confused by the fact that my mom says jw do not believe in ghosts, yet a sister commented about seeing things flying inside a householder whom performed witchcraft.
to me it was sort of hinting to ghosts or demons are visible to the eye or maybe it was bats?
also i remember one time in bible study, someone was saying how wicked spirits were bothering a family, and so they had to burn all their books on harry potter, and other ghost stories and after that the spirits stopped.

IS THIS WHY ELDERS ARE SO EGOTISTICAL??
by chuckyy ini have this theory.. someone once said to me.....' its no good coming into the truth if you are a sensitive person.'.
i have found in my experience as a former elder that a lot of elders have very large egos.
my theory is this:.

The Elder's are like Politicians, most of them go into it with their head screwed on, genuinely wanting to make a difference, or make things better. But eventually they either get corrupted by the power.
EDIT: I said "head screwed on" about the elders... LMAO! I meant regarding the dubs, not screwed on in general, otherwise they wouldn't be part of the borg...

"Jehovah saves groups not individuals"
by Rayvin inthis is what my dad told me .
i mentioned how i didn't want to attend a congregation where people were claiming to do good works in the name of god and knowing that they were doing opposite.
he says " well, when the last days come.. when ever that is... jehovah saves groups not individuals" well what we're in the wrong group dad?

Well, if god can remember all the traits that make a person individual, so he can resurrect them in the "New System", surely looking at them as individuals now is child's play for him.

Can you help us????
by chuckyy inmy wife and i have bee disassociated now for 10 months.however, we are both struggling psychologically.
we both have no self worth and are on medication for depression.it kills us that at our age we no longer have any friends.our daughter will soon need open heart surgery and we feel we have no one to support us.
we have to see witnesses every day at the school where they shun us.

I was a mild self harmer and attempted suicide once. I don't often tell people that, because then I'd have to tell them why, the reason was the bOrg (obviously). But I found my thoughts subsided so quickly, after leaving the dubs, the change I felt inside me was unbelievable. I didn't go for counselling when I was in the organisation, it just didn't appear to be an option, because when you're a kid, you do as you're told.
Go for counselling, I didn't go, I think I'm doing well without it, but if you think you or your wife needs it, go and don't hesitate.
Good Luck Chukky, and Mrs Chukky...

"I've decided to block your e-mail" (response from an almost-JW)
by AlmostAtheist inthere was a poster on jwd that left her email address in a post.
she was clearly a study, not yet baptized.
she was on jwd, so it sounded like she might be open to a maybe-they-don't-have-the-truth sort of discussion.. i emailed her my birthday write up with a note explaining that i didn't think the watchtower "lied" (as was mentioned in the jwd post she was responding to), but that they made disengenuous comments in order to keep people in the organization, sincerely believing that it was necessary for them to please god.. she responded, thanked me for the note, and said that she had stumbled onto jwd by accident, looking for an online copy of the km.

"This is my own decision, no one else's."
For some reason, I found it to be very disturbing that they felt they needed to point it out.In my opinion the pure fact that they felt they had to make the statement convinces me there was a dub directly pulling the strings.
